Do we expect this gets a lot better over the next 6 months? It needs to if any coach is going to lead the team to more than 5-6 wins a year. UT needs 3-5 of the top 30 at least.

Excited to see the potential of Kohlepp. CTV has had a long standing relationship with him as he was an Arkansas recruit who flipped to Tennessee. I feel he is very underrated because he came out of Wisconsin. I’m hearing he is showing well early in practice.

A standout defensive catcher is a pretty good start...

"Connor Pavolony is a 2018 C with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Woodstock, GA who attends River Ridge HS. Broad shouldered narrow waisted build, very good present strength, fairly mature physically. 6.97 runner, has lower half flexibility and body live, stays low and compact behind the plate, outstanding raw arm strength and accuracy, 1.78 best pop in drills, 1.79 in between innings, threw out a runner from his knees in the games. Elite level defensive tools. Right handed hitter, even bent knee stance, has some back side collapse in his swing, very aggressive hitter who creates bat speed and looks to lift and drive the ball, long and loose swing, may have to shorten it some at the next level but the hitting tools are there to develop."

and...

"Pavolony has broad shoulders and an athletic lower half. Receives the ball well and shows good accuracy and throwing arm. At the plate Pavolony has a solid approach, direct path to the ball and good batspeed. He can leak and get to his front side at times, but sees the ball well. Aside from his strong catching tool-set Pavolony is the kind of vocal leader you want behind the dish. "

I also think Elijah Pleasants is a little under rated on that list. He's nasty...90 mph fast ball, 11/5 72 mph curve and a fading 77 mph changeup. The Royals thought enough of him to select him late in the draft.

So that’s who started behind the plate in the Alabama scrimmage.
