No, we didn't play perfect but perfect in sense of we win and got things to look at on film that we can build from. Running game showed flashes at timed and allows our RBs to see the effect of what happens when you run east and west. Our defense gets to continue to grow after seeing the breakdowns in first half. Hunter and bray get to see what went wrong in their communication several times tonight. We won by two scores and left another 14-21 on board. Perfect way to start season.

Great win, a significant one for Dools and I'm really happy for him. C Patt was spectacular and Hunter looked back to form in the second half minus the drops. Bray had his best game since Cincy - really good game for him. Some concerns, though. McCullers wasn't that impressive save for his batted pass and was absent largely int he second half - conditioning? Also, Neal was disappointing - showed no guts in the way he bounced almost every run to the outside. That simply won't work in league play with so many SEC defenses with speed on the perimeter. Lane ran tough, but looked slow in his long run.

This is the part a few have forgotten about. The final score could have been a lot worse than it was. The Bray fumble (which I don't agree with, but replay made the right call) and two JH drops could have easily added 21 to the score.

Now that the rust is knocked off....I think we will be ok.

Bad matchup. NC State is a shotgun, no huddle team. Against SEC teams, McCullers will be much more important.

It's just nice to get last year's taste out of our mouth's. Even with the optimism of this year, last year was still there. Now it's gone, UT is a winner, we looked good on ESPN, and had a breakout player tonight.

Great to be a Vol tonight.

Good win, but VERY sloppy play. first half our Safety's looked completely lost. We gave them 14 easy. I was very surprised at how many times Hunter lost concentration. Bray has a LOT of work to do. If he made half the passes we score two more TD's. He can throw the long ball but very inconsistent on the short passes. He seemed to settle down a bit in the second half, but still needs a lot of work

I'm impressed. We've agreed on a couple things tonight. I think we are making progress!

Team so far played liked I predicted. Will have big runs occasionally, explosive passing game, great pass protection, and a defense that will give up yards but force turnovers. We are all vol fans and I hope this is a united fan base by the end of the year. Still think you should stick to basketball.....just kidding of course :)

Not sure I saw what you saw on Bray?

I don't mind the give up yards and force turnovers defense. I'm tired of "bend but don't break."

I know you meant it though. :) Heck people keep telling me it so much I'm starting to think I should...but I'm kidding of course. Unless we lose to UF. THen I'm gone.

Feels great, although it's always great even in tough times, to be a Vol tonight.

Bringing in the new coaches showed much improvement tonight, especially on Defense. The blocking was improved but definitely could be better. The blitzing and pressure on the qb hasn't been this consistent since the early part of the decade!!! The offense is as good as advertised. Having David Ricky would have been unfair to teams this year (I've said and gotten it out of my system). The brent brewer hit was Eric Berry-esque! Sooooo So great to be a Tennessee Vol!

The only fears that I have range from LB and WR.

No you actually bring up valid concerns instead of going full retard negative. We disagree but respect your posts even though I am a jackass at times. Bromance?
