Per Tiger Illistrated - Steele Fired

I would think if Steele was a real possibility here or CDD had spoke to him in any way about the job and he was interested Clemson would have allowed him to accept instead of firing him. It would have looked better for him and his career. Could he become a possibility now if he had not been contacted before??? Maybe. I think he is a lateral move from Wilcox at best. His defense just gives up alot of points.

It appears Clemson knows what to do when a coach is not meeting expectations.

Have to hand it to them for that.

Wish we had a self-respecting program like that.

Just saw a tweet that Clemson has to pay the buyout on Steele's contract. They will be shelling out $1.3 million to him. Wow.

Do you all think that because Steele has roots at Tennessee him as a hire would look more long term? Do you think there would be less worry about him jumping ship because he was/is a Vol?

Now how in the hell is Clemson going to hire a new DC before all their visitors come in tomorrow???

I think he is more loyal to the state of South Carolina. He and his wife are originally from there and they have family reasons to stay. This may change his mind but I doubt it.

Would have been just one more ignorant Dooley hire in the first place. He wanted to hire Steele as DC before the Orange Bowl, whose D had already given up over 300 points of scoring against ACC level competition with 2 future first round draft choices in the D-line.

I would hope so. Plus he is getting a few years on him. I don't know his age but he has to be in his 50's..? I think he would be great for the Vols!

Is this anyone important?

Wooooow really? He is staying, bit***** about it still, most likely is not going to make you feel any better. Why dont you just try and move on. I am in wait and see mode and just want the team to do well. Maybe you should just take that last step of the cliff because you obviously can't get over the fact he is here.

You are welcome to go follow Clemson. Im sure not many will miss you

You are welcome to follow whomever UT hires and show off your pom-poms in whatever public forum you choose.

You are not welcome to tell me what to think or do. I'll think for myself knowing from this post, its best to fully discount your drivel.:hi:
