Per Thamel: Heupel informed team this morning that Vols would move on from Nico.

Fully prepared for Nico to wind up at Oregon. They are the only school that I think would have no issues doubling his pay and not blinking
No way they are settling for NICO. He will sit on the bench. SEC bread coaches cover each others back with a few exceptions. A lot of private conversations, respect. Lanning would never have called CJH if he wanted to pull this off. Speculation is that Coaches don't want this kind of crap happening in football. It is like the prisoners running the prison. Kids and parents which they can do in the Pop Warner leagues but this is a league below the Bigs.

In retrospect, this guy might not have been the best idea. G-Class attitude, Isuzu Trooper results.

That’s one of those “all about me” photos..

Embarrassing that so many idiot fans cussed out Nakos on Twitter out of loyalty to some guy they don't know, because they believed his Daddy. It's not like Daddy has proven himself to be a liar and not too bright.

I see people on here saying if anyone was offered a million more then who wouldn’t leave. If that’s the case then if Heupel found someone that fit our system before this and would play for less money would we have the right to pull Nico’s NIL deal. Of course we couldn’t. It’s gotta go both ways. Somehow binding contracts for all parties must be in the future.

If Nico leaves, then we need to stop getting quarterbacks from California or west of the Mississippi. We need to find good Southern quarterbacks who understands the SEC and who will have a little more Pride.
There is no "if".
Also,Clausen and Bray were from California. Ainge was from Oregon. Stop being silly.

For his performance so far. I think the money he was receiving was fair market value for what he has shown
Compared to the money that nonstarters were getting. He was getting way under market value. I’m just like some others on here, he overplayed his hand.

The right decision. The only ones who look bad here is Nico and his camp. He’s hurt his future with this decision and put himself in a bad spot. Maybe he’ll get more money but he’ll be at a big disadvantage having to learn a new system with no time and severely hurt his chances with the NFL. Unless he wins the Heisman, scouts will have to wonder how much his antics the past 24 hours are they willing to put up with.
Not the only ones who look bad. Our fans who were in that reporter's mentions cussing him out look pretty bad.

I’m not mad at Nico. He has a right to play wherever. I only get mad when local kids leave. I’m very impressed with Heupel. He’s a winner. He took a no win situation and won anyway. After yesterday I think this has to galvanize the team and the fan base.
I dont expect a portal QB nor want one. Our QB’s have earned the right to lead this team and we have another on the way. I think the players will follow their lead. I wonder if this is really why we have had trouble with WR recruiting. A good offense needs a true leader. They sure as hell want to know their QB will still be there in the fall.
I think Nico is a good if not great QB but the drop off is not as damaging as the consequences had he stayed. I’m just mad I have a lot of money invested in his football cards. No fan base spends like the Vols. The timing of this will undoubtedly hurt him and I doubt an elite program will touch him and tarnish their image and perhaps poison their culture. That would be like hiring Lane Kiffin. I can see him ending up at some school praying for relevance like ASU,Cal or BYU like someone mentioned.

Don’t think Lanning would set himself up for that. Reach out to Tennessee and then take the kid.

Looks like teams are distancing themselves from him. Miami would be a school that would but Beck stopped that.

Agreed. People are people regardless of where they are from. Some just value money over all and others value other things like loyalty. I want the kids that understand with respect, hard work, and loyalty to the people who stand by you, all the financial success will come along the way.

Of all the things to criticize Nico for, I really feel like this is the least important one lol

It was probably some cultural thing anyway. Not to defend the kid otherwise but come on man
Yes, it's called a lavalava and it's a completely normal article of clothing for a Samoan male to wear. A Scottish kilt could also be called a skirt. Of all the things to talk about right now, this is kind of silly.
