Let's be real though, had he thrown 40 TDs last year we would have given him anything. This was an opportunity to free up cap space by letting mid-level player walk.

It probably wouldn’t even be at this point. He wants top “market value” (market value for a college player is ridiculous btw) but he doesn’t produce as a top market qb. EVERYTHING he has gotten has been based solely on potential.

I agree Heupel made the right decision but let’s not be naive. Nico was our best QB option and now he’s gone. We won’t be better this year without him. I just hate it’s happened.
