IF this is true he needs to INSTANTLY get ahold of our recruits and tell them he is not going to run the option

Along with the "done deals" of Muschamp, Patterson, Peterson, and Cutcliffe?

This is silly. I will believe it when I see it.

smokescreen - trustees want a tn guy and won't let hamilton hire outside the family again after this debacle, so cutcliffe it is.

He couldn't win the Commander in Chief Trophy and has not ties to the South. Sounds like a perfect fit if you want to stay 7-5

After it's announced, I expect the ticket office to blow up with people saying they no longer want their season tickets.

I'll be glad when Christmas gets here so I'll have something to look forward to! Damn, I feel sick.

i'm not sure how to feel if it is true:confused:
Remember, Calhoun was the runner-up to Kiffin a year ago and had at least one vote on UT's search committee. He's also esteemed for the way he runs programs and shows the flexibility to adjust to his personnel's strengths. It's not about option or wing-T or any of that. He's been an NFL offensive coordinator. He's worked with Mike Shanahan. He can coach a pro style offense.

This is from Hubbs. I'm posting this everywhere so everyone can see he is not an option coach. Recruits need to know this

If Calhoun is the coach we are screwed. No recruit wants to play for someone is not known whatsoever. I say fire Hamilton if this is indeed true.

I like this a lot better than the thought of ever seeing Cutcliffe in orange again.

FML

This move is absolutely horrible. He runs a triple option at Air Force, but he previously was the OC for the Texans and once he was replaced by Kyle Shannahan the offense got much better.

He has no recruiting ability. This guy will fail dramatically, if we are going to be constantly competitive we need a young big time recruiter who can bring some excitement and intrigue to the program. This move sets us back IMO. Recruits probably dont even know where the AFA is located.

Guys please. The guy was an offensive cord and qb coach in the NFL for 4years. He's not going whip out the flex on us. It would be nice to have though when we need it. He also has experience on defense.

Who else can we get this late in the game after Muschamp has turned us down? Calhound seems to be the right choice.
