Per sources, some guys played last night knowing they were leaving

I don't think many of you understand, these guys are competitors. Looking for the next NIL deal has nothing to do with the way the team performed. These guys want to win when they lace them up. Preparation and the inability to strategize to account for our weaknesses may have been more of a factor than guys checking out. What some of you are describing are effeminate personalities. It might exist more in society or that might be some of your personalities but it's not on the field generally.
Yeah, I’m not buying it.
Even if they are leaving don’t mean they’re not giving max effort to win.
All the seniors with no eligibility left are leaving. Think they aren’t giving max effort?

If they didn’t want to play and win they could of left with the others.

I think the lights were to bright. Playing on the road has a weird affect on this team. We'll get em next year! GBO

Looked at the portal a little while ago.
Lots of 2 and 3 stars in there, occasionally a 4 star sprinkled in.
Kinda like Bin Time for football players 🤷‍♂️
They won’t magically become a 5 star somewhere else.
Sometimes the grass is greenest over the septic tank
60% or more of the guys entering the portal end their careers with the move. Most of the others move down. It’s not the gold mine many think it is.

Knowing they were leaving after the season ends. Some even have deals with other schools already set.

Todays CFB really is screwed up
Curious to know if you have any player names and what are your sources? Are you just repeating something you heard? If so, where?

I mean I doubt any of this holds water but the players only have a certain amount of time after last night to enter the portal.

Sorry, I forgot what that window is but it's like 3-5 days or something. I'm sure holidays are excluded also and not sure if it's business days or calendar days

Basically unless they are gone by the end of the year then they aren't going anywhere

Yeah heard a similar thing from the Volquest guys. Whoever it is, at least they stuck it out and played unlike the guys who quit on the team before a playoff game
Idk, it seems like hanging around didn't do anything for the culture or competitive spirit.
I work construction-- if a guy puts his two weeks in, we cut him a check and a handshake the next day. No good can come from allowing a malcontent or otherwise to hang around for the sake of body count or anything else. They have zero vested interest in the common goals of the group. Therefore, there presence can only be extra, dead weight at best. At worst, the individual "poisons the well", and you end up dealing with more than just one less body. Just my 2¢

To sum up my opinion, I think it's best if those who want to move on, do so asap. No hard feelings besides the feeling of desertion, but respect all around--

It started with the OBannon brothers back in the 90’s and escalated from there through the courts. And yes it escalated with fans, media takes and players calling themselves gladiators competing for enjoyment. Fans don’t like being pointed at and yes, congress isn’t the answer.

Most remember the Arian Foster foodgate

Congress is almost never the answer unless the question is, "What is the biggest waste of taxpayer money in the US?"

If true, this adds some clarity to Heupel's statement:

Yeah, a ton of disappointment in our locker room for everybody that’s invested.

Being a college head coach has to be just awful at this point.
Why coaches are bailing and going back to coordinator jobs. The whole thing is f-ed up!

I’d heard it earlier from a parent but Austin Price said such last night on the podcast after the game. That’s about as good a source as there is.

Have a hard time with this. Not saying it isn't true, but I have wonder why they'd bother playing if they already have a new home next year? Makes no sense.

Prove your second sentence

False. Now, with NIL these guys are businessmen. Not competitors. If they are already eying money elsewhere, their heart isn’t on the field. Commitment and passion is a real thing and it either exists or doesn’t in these situations.

Ohio State just administered an ass kicking last night that should motivate the squad for the 2025 season.

If it doesn't, they better hit the portal...... real hard.
I hate to say it…but I think the days of this type of logic are long gone…the best of the best no longer have any shred of loyalty to their current team…the college football that most of us grew up with is over

Sounds like 20 million dollar team can get us a Natty. What’s that like 2 home games per year. Plus what 55-60 million in TV money . Seems like to me that if they want Nattys they can get some. MONEY talks and can buy a very good team. Just win couple Nattys , then back off to about 10 million dollar roster for a few then go back to 20 again and get another. Just depends on if the school really cares if we get one or not. Just have to get the president to get on board.

Why is it that every year our fanbase comes up with some conspiracy locker room, culture, unhappy players rumor? Lol
