Per Hyams on boosters

I'm afraid that mistake has already been made, when we hired Beldar.
Maybe one more for old times sake? Might forced them to just ride into next season with Steele. This is a critical hire and you just can't chance it with an unproven coordinator.

Honestly, looking back this makes sense. I think boosters tried to take over the last hire and after the revolt Currie thought he would power play the boosters and go rouge turning off his phone and trying to lure the pirate in. Thank God that did not happen. I can totally see getting frustrated by having too many hands in the pot trying to stir. I think thats what White has going for him is that he made that a condition is that he alone makes this hire. This explains the lack of real leaks and how quietly its really going. I like it.

If that's true DW is going to have a hard time fixing that sh** show.
Unfortunately a lot of people have done the math and it checks out. Why spend millions to possibly not make the playoffs and have to spend even more millions on coaches and supplies etc... when being 6-6 you actually can make more money

Me too. It’s always a pleasure to watch a true professional when they’re allowed to work.

If Knoxville was built better and had more hotels then bowl games would be attractive and making the playoffs would be more important. Ita all about the money

There are two to three boosters at UT with that kind of money and the only one that is even remotely interested in football is the Haslams. Unfortunately, they aren't the evil meddlers they are made out to be. Quite frankly, keeping Curry and letting him do his job would have been a much better decision than replacing him with Fulmer.

Anderson & Thornton are two that have had their hands in this mess. Both are very pro-Fulmer.

Exactly.

Best case under Currie would have been Mullen.

Worst case would have been Leach.

Either instance is better than the last 3 years and better than what we are hearing so far.

He's not wrong. This principle also applies to the current corporate business world and politics.

Highly doubt this. Atleast not from the big money ones.

Jimmy Hyams often says dumb things.
We all do including boosters. This is the problem any publicly funded system that does not produce its own funding. It will always be corrupted and controlled by private interests. Franklin, if they are buying our coaches.... why would you trust the University has control over this decision? Oops frankly. 🤣

If this is true turn out the lights and shut the door on or way out, UT football and all athletics will now be officially dead.

They dont really want to loose but they definitely like to try and have a influence on the program, not just donate money and sit back and see what happens
