The loudest stadium this year. During the LSU / FL game they said it was up to 105 decibels and that Neyland has been the loudest so far this year during the OK game when it hit 114 decibels.

I couldn't make it to that game, but I was proud to hear that when they said it.

Not sure about the loudest but it's definitely the best looking from the air being a proper coliseum rather than a flat expanse of bleachers like Michigan or ND.

Can't be true. I think I read somewhere on here just a week or two ago that we were the worst fanbase in the country. How can such a horrible fanbase create such an electric atmoshpere. ESPN's decibel meter must measure whining as being louder than other fans cheering at other stadiums, because we're all a bunch of whiners. At least that's the word on VN.

I think we're the loudest whiners.

The blue hairs must have forgotten to attend that one.

Hey now... just because some of us can't get through the day without a fiber supplement... I blew my voice out at OU game. It would have only been 113 db without me.
Not a blue hair.. silver is more like it.

I , we, were called "pathetic" and a terrible fan base because we held a multi-millionaire coach accountable for blowing 3 consecutive double digit leads.

Yet the stadium stays full in support of the players, as it should.

Some people get upset when they think what they are following or believe in isn't 100% the best thing out there. It affects their herd mentality.

My throat hurt and I was hoarse for several days after this game. My ear drums felt like they were literally vibrating. It was a weird feeling.

I literally couldn't talk for 2-3 days after. Tough loss but worth it for the vols. (Not the loss, losing my voice obviously)

Not one single OU play was that place not on its feet screaming. Hoarse for 3-4 days.

Sucky ending to a phenomenal experience.

The vast majority of Vol fans are not irrational and get on message boards spewing ignorant rhetoric about firing our coaches. It doesn't surprise me that Neyland is packed every week. We have a lot of honorable fans. You shouldn't think that the majority of fans in Neyland think like you do.

I believe that Neyland Stadium got much louder than that 114. I was at the Oklahoma game & at times I thought something inside my head & ears was going to pop! Two Oklahoma fans sitting in front of me had their ears pinned & were shaking their heads in disbelief, :banghead2:said that they couldn't take it anymore & hauled azz the start of the 3rd quarter.
