Per Brice

I just don't see why Petersen would want to move away from Washington.? Seems like his roots are in the northwest. How well would he recruit in the southeast?

Not saying he's not a great coach, but maybe not one that would fit in Fulmer's eyes.

This screams "Washington, please give me a raise" by Peterson.
Wsu just gave him a raise to 4.875 MIL a year and extended contract till 2023. Highest paid coach in pac-12. Final 2 years of contract salary will be 5.625. If we want to land him better throw him 10m. Doubt he would turn that kinda money down.

If Vols are serious about football, that's exactly what they would do.

Peterson is a stud. My fear is that we're in for another let down. It's interesting that Fulmer is considering Morris. Currie interviewed him and wanted to hire him, but it was squashed by the Fulmer camp. My neighbor thinks we're going to offer the job to Pruitt. I asked him for his opinion on Tucker and he thinks it would be a terrible move based on the other coaches we're considering.

Morris will be a very good coach. Honestly if he would have stayed at Clemson he would be the hottest name out there.

Sure he would, and then hired by someone and proven to be just an average head coach like he has at SMU

Cliff notes from the podcast.
* It's important for Fulmer to bring people in that have a UT connection.
* Could see the job being offered to Kevin Steele with Tee coming in as AHC/OC
* He likes Chad Morris and thinks he's a bright, young coach, but feels he's a better fit for the Arkansas job based on the offense he runs.
* He feels we have a 0% shot at landing Peterson.
* Talked at length about the internal issues and the rumors that were flying out there, including the Brohm situation in which it turns out he never interviewed for the job.

Summary - He said there's a reason why we're looking at a lot of DC's for the HC job. It will likely be a package deal with Tee. He said look for Steele/Tee or Tucker/Tee.

Cliff notes - shorter version:

Fulmer has no desire to hire an experienced HC that can get Tennessee back on top.
