Tennessee basketball is in a five alarm fire and nobody seems to care.

The team has no fire
The coach has no fire.
The fans have no fire.

I've not seen such acceptance of mediocrcy in this program since pre Buzz days.

This is not a good situation. We have lackluster recruiting to top it all off.

You all need to wake up. This program is a dumpster fire. Youth in basketball is not an excuse!!

Your screen name fits perfectly.

You defend this team like we don't have a proven coach who should be able to right the ship.

Rick Barnes has a better resume than Bruce when he arrived. He should be able to turn a program around faster than 4 years.

I see regression and lethargy.

So what's your solution?

That's up to Barnes for now. I'm just signaling the fact that those who are preaching patience need to realize that basketball can turn things around much faster than football. And all signs point towards that ain't happening.

Tennessee isn't making any major changes in any sport until a new AD has had time to set a baseline.

So you state the obvious and have nothing to add that would help fix the problems.

Like I said, cool story.

Which is why I asked for a solution. B****ing about the problem is easy.

Recruit better
Play smarter
Play harder
Win more

Pretty simple. If you can do that, you should get out. In basketball talent gaps can be made up by effort. I don't see effort. And I don't see anyone demanding it.

Do you have suggested solutions? Youve seen this team the past two years. As have I.

What about opening game didn't send shock waves through you thinking "what the heck was that?"

UNC stopped any quibbling of Chattanooga being some powerhouse.

I get his point to a degree.

I click on the basketball forum hours and days apart, and noticed that fans do not post much in the forum.

That shows how the fans feel

I agree that basketball can be turned around quickly unlike football.

I get what others are saying about him not having a solution, but I think he just thought that fans came across as accepting mediocrity and wanted fans to have more passion for program. jmo

GBO!

What is quickly?

I don't like Barne here, I wanted and still want Will Wade. But this "turn around quickly" stuff seems to be thrown around loosely.

Imo, quick is 2 year, 3 year tops.

I think he feels Barnes is not doing that based on recruiting.

You can definitely tell there does not seem to be a lot of excitement around program and Barnes based on the activity in the basketball forum imo.

There are some solid players on the team, but again he is not showing he is building on foundation with elite players and he has had time to get in on them imo.
