If people are going to hate on Fulmer, they need to be reminded, that we probably won't have another run like his for a LONG time. His recruiting fell off, and made bad OC call, but you could argue that, like other programs who stuck with their coaches, would have bounced back...however, at that moment in time, Vol faithful, including me, were spoiled w/ 10 win threshold...and was time for him to move on after 16 years.

Kiffin, though qualified was self destructive. Dooley, incompetent, and Butch raised the bar, and replenished the talent level, character and ultimately, made this HC job MUCH more appealing than it was for the Dooley/Butch hires. So, IF, big IF, Currie makes the right call for next HC, then some of the credit goes to what Butch did to get our house in order. Know this isn't popular view, but Butch clearly busted his ass to succeed...just didn't work out. No reason to hate on him, in my book.

and someone will add Jones to this list in about 9-10 years after we've gone another decade of languishing mid pack SEC, 5-7 wins per year and working on getting rid of yet another coach.

But that's okay VN. Keep ignoring history, keep closing your eyes to the long game and demand your Big Mac now!!

We all do. I loved CPF, was excited about CLK, hand no clue who CDD was, and said "damn, CDD beat CBJ" but still bought into the brick by brick crap. So numb to this crap

No. You shouldn't "hate" any of them. That's just childish. Definitely shouldn't hate Butch. He's done lots of good things here it just hasn't worked out in the end. If he had done terrible things, ie recruiting scandals (Rick Pitino style) or personal conduct issues like cheating on his wife or drugs or hookers, then yeah maybe you can reason to hate him. If you hate Butch, you need to get over yourself and find other things to interest you. The obsession by some in this fanbase is sad.

I wish Butch the best. I think he promoted Scott because Butch is a good man & likes to give his friends a hand up. Gonna be his downfall but he can look in the mirror and know he had his friend's back and stuck with him to the end. Where ever he lands after TN, every assistant coach in the nation shouldn't be scared to work for Coach Jones. I'm not a historian but is Larry Scott TN's first black Offensive Coordinator?

I feel bad for CDD and CBJ. It sucks to fail.
I think CLK could give us the best possible chance at this point. We could get him at a low price (admin price) but we would get good qb play. Keep shoop or get another DC other than his father (too old)

Not sure why there needs to be any hate. The man wanted the job when others didn't and helped bring us up from the pits of hell. Now by all means, you can want him gone. He's left us in a better place for Gruden to take over at season's end. :)
