If he's ever going to leave Iowa State-this may be about that time.

He's done about all he can do with that program . They are consistently a bit above average-which for them is amazing. They just don't have the resources or the backing to take that next step. Sad, but reality sucks sometimes.

He doesn't move along soon he is gonna fall into that Kirk Ferentz "lifer" realm.

Tommy Rees is the only one that may go there and it would be a beautiful disaster.

I'm not fan of James Franklin, but I'm also no fan of Penn State, and watching him revenge destroy them like he is is hilarious. I am convinced he took the Va Tech job because it's striking distance of Penn State in terms of recruiting.

VA Tech isn't going to fire Franklin after having double digit winning seasons three years in a row either. Tech is also in a lesser conference as well with fewer contenders. It is hilarious how Penn State overvalued themselves firing JF only to end up in a worse situation. What a bunch of dumb bastards.

Penn St is right there with A&M on a list of programs that overestimate how big of a deal they are. UGA and Michigan did that too but their performance over the last several seasons has kind of moved them down that list.

I think PSU people a lot of times think they are right there with Ohio St in terms of program prestige, brand power, resources, etc. but they are not.

They also have a huge black eye that I’m not sure any other program will ever achieve.
