Penalty for bringing alcohol into Neyland

I know during the race at Bristol you can bring in a cooler of beer. Will that be the case Saturday there?

Sadly, no coolers allowed for the game. And any bag has to be a clear one no bigger than 12 x 12 x 4. Hubby and I were at the track this past Saturday and saw them stocking beer. :)

Rumor is we will have to go thru a metal detector, so if you're bringing in your own 'refreshments', make sure there's nothing detectable on it.

GBO!!

A few years ago I was walking to Thompson Boling for a bball game with a beer. As I got in line to go inside I finished it, walked over to the trash can, threw it in, no big deal right? A police officer monitoring the line made a pretty big scene out of it.. Told me that he could and should cite me for it. Someone else in line came to my defense and said something like "we do it all the time during football season," and the officer said "well this ain't football season." In the end, I learned my lesson and don't play around with that kinda stuff anymore. I just drink at the tailgate and sober up in the game. I know, cool story bro

when I was in school, I always tucked airplane bottles into my socks. Never had them check my ankles.

The alcohol ban bothers me less as I've gotten older and getting drunk/being around drunks has become much less attractive. It still irks me, though, that there are different rules for the class of people that sit in the skyboxes.

if at gate, they normally will make you pour it out and let you on in. With Students, they can deny you entrance.

If inside, they can escort you out of the stadium.

This is all 100% correct, and I have experienced both scenarios. Of course, fall-out belligerent drunks are more likely to be denied entry.

Interesting. One bama game, a bama player looked like he took a kick at Smokey. Next thing you know an empty (who ever heaved it was no fool) Jack fifth bottle came sailing from the stands and bounced about three feet in front of the player. the bammers kept their helmets on for the rest of the game.

You weren't the one who heaved the bottle were you? If so, it was a mighty shot!

I can honestly say "I don't remember" and I'm not supporting HRC

Why do you need it inside? There's plenty of time before the game and plenty after to not have to worry about it.

You are kidding, right.? Drinking at the game is, well, the reason for going to the game. Been drinking at the Vols games since 1965. Have never been drunk inside Neyland, but, sometimes I've wished I was. GO VOLS!!!!

This is why as a student I never entered in the student gates. Always entered in the gates the geezers did, right underneath the press box. They never patted you down at those gates. There was such a big rush of people getting in, they didn't care I had a student ticket. Just let me on through.

that's why i don't enter thru gate 10 or 21. but, i went thru 14 last week, with wallet and phone already out and in hand, and cop still patted me down. first time that's happened at those gates. he didn't feel the two airline bottles i had behind the belt.

and i have only noticed fans being forced to turn over the alcohol. never have i seen them be denied entry. this is RECENTLY, too... not something that happened 30 years ago like some of these responses.

If you are 27 and still feel the need to get toasted and be an ahole at a game, you have issues. I am far from a "blue hair" and I assure you if I am sitting close to you and am subjected to profanity and obnoxious behavior, you will feel my size 12 shoe up your ***. I can afford bail and a good attorney. I doubt you can afford either.

Hopefully by the time you hit 30, you will have matured some. Your Mommy will be so proud of you. :loco:

And the other guy is the D**khead? This is the most douchebag comment I have read on here today.
