Letter of allegations is expected in Dec/Jan then the school and all parties involved have 90 days to respond prior to meeting the commitee on infractions. That pushes it to June.

Will we get a feel of what the punishments will be when the letter of allegations come in?

yes we should get a feel for what is in the letter. In June, we will go before infractions committee to discuss/debate/argue/accept/counter...

The earlier the better. It would help Tennessee for it to be in April if sanctions are going to force a coaching change.

The good news is at least we don't have to worry about this team having their season ruined by a possible postseason ban.

We will feel much better when we see the letter.

Less Majors than Arizona

Probably less than UConn as well.

This is what I expect. Those who think a postseason ban is in play are going to be in for a surprise. The worse thing that could happen is a suspension for Pearl. I talked to Haslam when he came to a local college, and he said from what he heard that the worse is over. Also, from Gottlieb and other ESPN radio guys, Slive stepping in and suspending Pearl for 8 games looks good to the NCAA. Slive was over the appeals I believe for the NCAA so he knows what it takes to get a consistent money maker in UT BBall with Pearl off with lesser punishment.

I feel like with Arizona and UCONN's situation, neither AD or conference Commissioner came out and was proactive like Hamilton and Slive was. Also, I don't care what anyone's opinions are on Pearl coming forward, but it will help his case. One can argue and say he did it because it was the right thing and one can argue that he did it knowing that he would get caught... either way it looks good to the NCAA as it did to Slive and the SEC as opposed to not coming forth and just sticking with the lie.

An insider at UT indicates that the NCAA has already told the university that Pearl coming back to them will be given every consideration in punishment that is forthcoming.

Sanctions or no sanctions there is not going to be a coaching change. Pearl is our coach now and will be in the future. Get over it!

Everytime they talk about it, they say they are wrapping in football and baseball into the investigation. So what about football are they looking at? I think it may be kiffins recruiting style.(People said he hired women to get a quick commitment out of kids.)

the annoucers at the Nit Tip off tournament when pearl told his stories they said they would wrap in football.

When the NCAA investigative a program they do not just look at 1 purported violation or sport. They look at the entire athletic program. That is how UNC got busted. The NCAA went in because of the agent sponsored trip to Miami and uncovered the rest.

USC was busted for things in addition to Reggie Bush and Football.
