Penalities: Bama one.....UT eight

Home field advantages are supposed to be because of the huge fan support for the home team, not because the lousy officials give the home tealm all the calls.

I have been complaining about poor officiating for years now. I was pretty pleased 3 games into the season (not just for us but all gmes I watched).
Alas, the officiating has really fallen, to the point where a crew was suspended recently.

It is just getting ridiculous to see officials basically decide the outcome of games.

We were the third least penalized team in the SEC (I think) and 8 to 1 in pusscaloosa? BS!

No. The Sullins' are just that bad.

Considering the circumstances, They played well enough for us to win.

They were going up against at least 3 future NFL players.

They are the best we have right now, and today they were good enough.

The chop block call o the punt coverage was absolutely bogus. The man triped and hit the ground well ahead of the opposing players.

I saw a few bad calls, bama's db's love to grab. A few of the ball spots were terrible, Bama loves to hold. However, unless its called, its a good play. So no, the refs did not cost us this game, we had our chances, we just fell a bit short.

Not as blatant as the Florida/Arkansas game (except for the no call on Cody taking off his helmet) but, nevertheless, we didn't get any breaks with the officials.

I think they missed a few interference calls but other than that we deserved most of them as much as I hate to say it

I agree with the call being bogus, but from what I saw, the Tennessee player did not trip. He dove in trying to make a play. IMO, I thought it was a good play. Pretty much the only thing he could do, still a gay call...

I don't how many of you noticed it , but they ran at least 10 seconds off on our last possession before half time. They'd run a couple of extra seconds each play. I'd say it cost us at least another play.

I saw several obvious PI calls on AL's db's. One of the false starts was caused by the AL def. The chop block call was the first one I've ever seen and didn't agree with it. The holding call on one of the last drives is still a mystery to me. They had 1 called infraction. No way in heck they only committed one infraction.

Fixing to post this. I have never seen a clock reset and started as quickly as today after gaining a first down. Usually the qb can snap the ball at or near the start of the clock after a first down is made. The refs were running sprints to get the chains moved, the ball spotted, and getting the clock running.

I saw A LOT of that, we would always lose 3 to 4 seconds when the play was supposed to be stopped. It happened all game long.

We must have seen to different things. That was a sissy move that could have ended careers, and we don't need that kind of play in football

It looked to me like he might have been trying to dive at Javy's feet and not necessarily at the blocker, but instead made contact with the blocker. Hence, the penalty.

Right. And man never landed on the moon, either.

I watched both the moon landing and the bama game. On TV.
It happened.

As for the "pool" - no video on this one. But I did meet one of the participants. And the story was told to me by an acquaintance/relative respectively. For key games, a number of individuals kick in $1k or so for a few flags, or to make sure the flags stay in the pocket. You know, drive killers, or to keep drives alive.

The best way to double your money? Fold it over, and keep the flag in your pocket! - SEC official

Of course this is all hearsay, and I don't recall any
specifics - I know how you legal bammers like subpoenas!

It was a good play and BAD call....should have never happened.
