Showing some signs of maturity and mental toughness. Lofton was struggling last night, but they found a way to win at home against a tough opponent. That's the sort of win that will go a long way in the NCAA's.

Congrats on the win, and hey, would you guys let Buzz come back? :blush2:

Buzz is too busy making sure the bus driver doesn't get lost going to the next road game and trying to figure out why nobody shows up to watch his team play.

Thanks Brian, you're alright.

That is just the kind of win these guys needed. It shows that they can struggle and still gut one out.

I know they're not next but I can't wait for UK. It's one of the games I am sure to be able to watch. Should be a rowdy one too.

And only if you bring back Mumme-ball. Nothing like a fake punt from your own 20. :biggrin2:

Mummeball was a bunch of exciting losses, I'm afraid.

Don't forget his admission that he ordered the UK defense to "let Syracuse score a TD so that we could get the ball back" in the Music City Bowl in '99. :shakehead:

Good Riddance.

I actually understood letting Syracuse score. It is better to have the ball down 7 with two minutes left than watch the other team run out the clock. As for faking punts, the worst one was against UT in 1998 when the punter himself ran it up the middle on 4th and long. So, counting the distance between the punter and the line of scrimmage, Mumme expected Jimmy Carter to run like 25 yards or so. Nevertheless, good riddance is right. Mumme and his ego are free to screw up another program and go on probation.

Easy on ol' Hal: corrupt as he was, he took the 'Cats to a New Years Day bowl game (Outback Bowl, although they did get drilled by Penn St.) Where have they been since then? (of course, having Tim "Dead Arm Walking" Couch did help matters a bit)

McCat: five in a row for your boys... shaky wins, yes, but they have to be building some confidence. I sincerely hope they beat Florida on Saturday in a hard-fought nailbiter and have nothing left in the tank for when the Vols roll into Rupp. If we win there, we basically lock up the East.

I'll take 5 straight wins this year. You can see the offense taking shape now that we have an inside presence with Morris.

It's definitely going to be murderer's row in the next week. I think that most fans would rather see us clobber Eddie Munster and the gators, if given a choice.

Still, there's a long way to go, and the Vols still have to play at the O-Dome, and one more game with Kentucky.
