With the recent happenings of Billy Donovan looking at the NBA, it got me wondering about CBP. If he continues having success at Tennessee at the rate he is now, do you see him leaving UT for a possible coaching job in the NBA?

eventually that could be the case, but no need to worry about that right now, i don't see him going anywhere in the near future.

I should have made that more clear, i was talking in 8-9 years.
anything's possible, especially if he has the success we all hope he does.

but for now, i think he's perfectly happy where he is. he's on the cusp of doing some good things, and what could be argued one of the better/up and coming leagues in bball.

Pearl gave a short radio interview on Friday morning on 104.5 the Zone in Nashville. They asked him about Donovan's departure (at the time it was presumed) and he seemed pretty agreeable to the idea that a big fat NBA contract is a nice reward for success at the college level.

Do you think jewish youth would join the hispanic lads in rioting in Nashville if PearL joined the NBA?

Maybe Pearl will one day view an NBA opportunity the same way Donovan apparently now does.

I would say Pearl has a great chance much sooner than the 8-9 year range...more like 4-5 years imho

I'll trade a few more runs in the ncaa playoffs for the signing of CBP to an NBA team.

Speaking of Donovan ... I know it would never happen, but it'd be funny as heck if Florida sort of stiffed him a little on the contract he'll be signing in the next few weeks. You know ... like $500K less per year than what it would have been pre-Magic fiasco. Haha ... I'd pay $10 to see 'em do that ... he deserves it.

In the midst of that whole fiasco, I've only heard Orlando's side of it and nothing from Gainesville about UF actually taking him back. I presume they are?

I don't think he's style would fit in the NBA. He'd have to change his coaching style to get an NBA job.

It's pretty similar to Pheonix's except they don't really trap very often.

I suppose the reason is that NBA players can easily defeat a trap and score breakaway baskets with impunity by spreading their offensive sets the length of the floor?

Would a trap constitute illegal defense in some way?

Any help here from the NBA knowledge gurus?
