Is the trolling really necessary? Console gamers are just as bad spouting off their system specs and such

Built my system about a year ago and now its first real test will be playing DayZ standalone when game is complete. It plays the alpha without temp going up on Chip. That's Good to know

I couldn't resist... I got Skyrim for the PC. I played it on the 360 for hours, but finally got over the bugs and quit. It looks incredible on ultra.

I splurged tonight and got Tomb Raider ($5) and Trackmania Stadium ($2.50). Never played any of the TM games but they've always looked cool.

I've played about 30 minutes of 2 old TR games years ago. Never cared for it. Heard this one was decent enough and looked pretty.

Anyone else having Steam store connection issues? I assume it is just getting hammered right not in traffic. I can not connect to the store through the install or their website.

The Skyrim mods add so much to the game... I never looked into them until now.

Left 4 Dead 2 was announced as free to get today (download it today and get it free forever). I think the aftermath crashed the place

Finally got an i7 4770k and an Asrock motherboard that looks sweet. Never had an Asrock board but it has every feature then some (like HDMI pass-through).

That along with my 660 is rocking now. Don't have Battlefield on the PC, but Tomb Raider maxed out looks very nice and runs like a champ.

First Intel chip I've ever bought. Started building machines 20+ years ago. It's not a strictly gaming system, but it does handle that well.

While I was building I figured I'd install the Windows 8 upgrade I bought for $15 a year ago. It's working well enough, but I don't understand it yet. What is the tile interface for? I'd rather use a web browser than dedicated apps for crap. So, it's like a prettier version of 7 with some stupid interface that's available.

CSB - While I started to put things together I realized the board didn't have any IDE headers. I only have IDE DVD drives. Luckily, I had a USB Hard drive enclosure. Took out the drive that in there and rigged it to a DVD drive. Luckily the bios saw it just fine.

Also, first time seeing a UEFI interface. Much nicer than the old bios setup screen.

Win 8 is terrible; they are trying too hard to be like Apple. Typical MS I guess. I'd rather deal with Vista than 8.

Same here, I hate Win8. However, there are good options out there to make it feel more like Win7, but I still prefer 7 over 8.

Install Classic Shell, and it will make Win8 a lot better.

Classic Shell - Start menu and other Windows enhancements
