@PB@J talks with Slice about stuff

It's really none of my business and I don't mid being told so. Slice is human and prone to mistakes as we all are. Chosen or inherited faiths don't protect us from that. But, his kids actually attend a CoC school in Chatty and he has no issues with what they teach. Unless things have recently changed for some reason. Point being something would have to have shifted pretty well for him to make general attacks on christians. Maybe (Hopefully) there were just some seriously escalated misunderstandings. You both have always seemed pretty stand up to me.

I went after the other guy pretty hard. And I’m again not sorry for any attack on him. I am for anyone else who felt offended.
But some of it is based in ignorance of history. For example I used the term “Jebus” a couple of times because that’s an error that exists in the first KJV and I was attacking the KJV only idea.
If someone was ignorant of that historical fact then they could easily be offended.

Having said that I’m now done defending myself. Thanks for your kind words, I appreciate it but I think we should all move on. Nothing else needs to be said.

I don't have it all figured out yet, so I haven't evolved into the "only one church" dude yet.

My personal belief is nobody should claim a denomination. Either your a believer in G-d and Messiah whom he sent or you are not. or you aren’t. Be honest about what you believe and why.
2nd I see the scripture as an instructional book for believers and how to recognize G-ds people whereas most believers tend to see them as a how to get saved book.
My salvation is a result not the goal. I’d serve and love G-d if there was nothing else. And if he destroys me at the judgment he’d be just to do so. Even knowing my destruction was at hand in serve G-d.
Shalom

Faith without works...is vain...
Works without faith...wasted time.... ???
Faith and works without grace...hopeless....

In a nutshell for those who wish to make christian life difficult, or dependent upon a bishop to explain it, only two true ideals were taught by Christ. Love/Accept him and share him with others. If you do those two things, 90% of the other things in scripture will fall in place. If it were difficult, there would have been more than 10 commandments. It was never meant to be an exclusive club. It was man's power egos that created alot of religion as we see it.
I was wrong.
We can absolutely continue. I’m liking your thinking
I’ve got to work but I’ll be back.

seriously.
More righteous indignation noted.
Stfu. and let it die.
Nobody wants to see this garbage anymore.

Breath in breath out. move on.
Says the guy that started it. I was expressing my opine, just like you expressed yours. I'm over it and it isn't garbage except to those who believe it's garbage. Some of us don't.

His attacks were in jest. They were pointed at one individual but then spread to a couple more....and basically now me but for different reasons (I am telling him to behave). This issue that I had were some of the attacks while partially for lulz were also a bit directed and I thought distasteful. I will continue to give him a hard time and he will eventually forgive me I am sure. He has apologized and I rubbed it in and for that I am wrong and sorry.

Slice, thank you for this. It is absolutely what happened and am sorry I took offense at Jebus but yeah, I kinda don't like that. I had no clue it was in the KJV. I am no biblical scholar by any means. Your personal belief is mine as well. I was raised Baptist, would probably go to a Baptist church if I did because that is what I know. If they had a Lutheran church here we would probably go to that one also for GVG. All of that last paragraph is spot on as far as I am concerned.

Slalom

Sorry slice, had to throw that in. Now I'll shut up and learn some more.

“Thou shalt commit adultery” is another LJV oops. That “not” is pretty important

It’s as if humans want it to be harder than it is.
Messiah went after the Pharisees for adding to the people of G-d a burden that G-d didn’t require.
Pretty much respect the 10 and seek G-d. That’s how to please G-d.

There’s a pretty funny movie with a scene where the woman wants her man to want to do the dishes for her. She’s not so concerned that he actually does the dishes. It’s the love/want to that she’s after.
I think that sums up our relationship with G-d. To please G-d you should want to do the dishes. Doing them is the result of what he’s after.
