It would be nice to focus in on a topic.

Background and exposition.

I grew up a religious Baptist pastoral family.

Grace through faith is a dominant theme and the standard bearer for eternal life in Baptist teachings.

However, rules and regulations are the foundation to please and or form a personal relationship with God. Baptist won’t admit it, but there’s a huge Episcopal influence in the Bible Belt Baptists traditions.

I would even go as far to say that legalism as far Baptists are concerned is overwhelmingly comparable to the Al-Mizan or the scale of judgement.

I too have a strong Baptist background on my mother’s side and Jewish on my dads side. Growing up I spent a lot of time among the goat herders (Baptist) so I understand them very well. In college I wrote several papers on biblical topics which frame how I think today. And I agree that legalism is a big issue with the GH. The problem being that they reject the instructions G-d gave for righteous living and replace it with their own rules. I’d say that along with the COC the Baptist are the closest Christian Denomination to the Pharisees in that regard.

My maternal grandparents were Baptists. My paternal grandparents were Episcopalians. My father was a self-described atheist (nobody challenged a man who served in combat). For a time, we lived in Hebrew neighborhoods. My parents had numerous Hebrew friends. I knew plenty of Hebrew kids growing up. I dated a few Hebrew girls in high school, but their fathers disapproved of me more than young lads of the tribes. Besides being goyim, from 1968 on, I was of a financially fallen family. My fortunes were headed in the wrong direction. My future prospects were dim. I also dated a few lapsed Catholic girls. Eventually, I fell in love with one. She’s my girl, and I’m her guy.

Depends on which COC you are attending. There has been a move away from that in many congregations, but still a strong hold overall.

I think it’s true in some versions of nearly all denominations. Those mentioned are the 2 I’ve been exposed too. And one Baptist in particular was the synagog of Satan.
(For the uneducated dipshits reading along Satan is a title that means opposer not a specific being. So when Yeshua said to Peter “behind me Satan” he was telling Peter that “you’re in opposition to what I’m trying to accomplish” not “you’re Lucifer “).

Absolutely correct IMO.
I’ll go a step further. We only exist now, and everything that ever was or ever will be exists in that “now”. G-d is outside of that “Now”. Our memories are the only record of anything other than now.
So….
When G-d says that he “will wipe away your sins for His own sake and remember them no more”. And then says he “will wipe away the unrighteous and remember them no more”
Time and anything that G-d doesn’t remember never existed.

Abrahamic religion meets theoretical physics and they align perfectly. Almost like the universe is set up on laws and established by the Law giver.

True story….
I once had a thread just like this, then a turd came in and wrecked it. That thread got merged to the one in the political forum. The Turd made another one in the zone and I took exception too it. I eventually got kicked out of his thread. So now I have this one where I can talk to people on a higher level.
he can stay over there and I’ll stay over here.

I enjoy the back and forth, it makes me examine my own thoughts and helps either solidify them or makes me re-examine them… I never mean to insult or disrespect but sometimes my thoughts are different from most
