University of Tennessee senior Payton Miller painted the Rock in downtown Bristol Thursday evening during the Battle on the State Line Kickoff event.
Miller, who has painted the famous Rock on the Knoxville campus for a couple of years, ventured to Bristol for festivities leading up to Saturdays Battle at Bristol game between the University of Tennessee and Virginia Tech. A makeshift rock sign was set up along State Street, on the Tennessee side, where fans signed one side and she painted the other.

(Tennessee) is a school thats given a lot to me so far in the three years I have been here, Miller added. Anyway my painting cans help, I totally love that, and I hope I have given people something to look forward to on game day.
