i heard slimebaum talk to an auburn fan about playing here. He basically said that UT is not a hostile enviroment and that it will not be sold out. he also said that all auburn needs to do is take the lead and the UT fans will basically sell out the team and stop cheering.

i really hope all the UT faithfull, including the COCKTAIL CROWD, step it up this saturday and fill that place up and cheer like never before. it's been a while since i've heard that place really rocking. We need cheer loud even if auburn get a 7 or 10 point lead.

Tennessee's fans have become a fatalistic bunch over the last decade. In the 90s, we cheered as though we expected to win; these days we cheer as though we're holding our breath to see how we're going to lose.

I remember sitting in the Georgia Dome a couple of years ago and thinking how much the LSU fans sounded the way that Tennessee fans did back in the 90s.

Are u telling me that it was rocking during the UCLA game? Kiffin said it was so loud that he couldn't hear through his head phones.

Why would you even listen to that bum?
He has made a career out of stirring crap.
It does not help that he is a UT alum.
Finebaum is a tool, plain and simple.

Slimebaum is just himself, but Neyland has become pathetic this decade. Like Meyer said when he came back to Florida, we need to "re-take" Neyland. The crowd last weekend was just aweful and embarrasing.

i thought the stadium was rocking vs WKU. it was loud, and how could I forget the entire stadium doing the wave for about 10 minutes straight in perfect unison.

Hamilton is destroying Neyland stadium as we used to know it. Charging for student tickets, and pricing true fans out of the stadium could be the death Knell of this program.

That looks a lot like the wyoming game from last year. If so, that was someone elses fault. I think it will be full on Saturday.

finebaum is mainly a bama lover/suckup, and hates anything outside of the putrid state of alabama, the most redneck, trailer trash state in america!

Tennessee is 7-9 over the last 2 years. If they were 13-3, I guarantee there would not be an attendance or noise problem.

(For you nit-pickers, there would have to be an extra game because of bowl, I know)

A crappy UT team playing a crappy Ohio team in crappy weather will do that. Remove just one, any one, of those "crappy"s and you have near capacity. Remove more than one and it will be overflowing.

It will be amazing how many "true fans" will be willing to pony up a few extra dollars to watch a good Tennessee team. Our stadium needed renovating. From what I have seen, it is a much better place to watch a game than it was just a few years ago, and the improvements continue. Having seen the locker rooms, sidelines, and media areas before and after, it is a better place to play a game and talk about it before and afterwards. The improvements will help funnel dollars and players into the program. There just isn't anyway to paint that in a negative light.

Charging students for tickets? Isn't University of Tennessee athletics (theoretically, I know) for/about the students? I can understand if they don't give away 75,000 student tickets, but maybe a lottery or something for some free ones...

Man, there aren't 75,000 students AND faculty at UTK. I wonder why Hammy felt the need to charge for the tickets on top of the activities fee which paid for mine when I attended from '94-'98? I guess he did not bet on two losing seasons in four years.

That said, if Kiff can manage a W on Saturday, then selling student tickets will not be an issue in the least... especially with the traditional sacrificial calf from UGA on the altar fattened up on a "quality" win vs. LSU.

Man, I cannot wait for Saturday. I don't know about the rest of y'all, but I am back to watching games to see how we are going to win. Feels good.

I refuse to do the wave. It had its moment. We need to just go ahead and let it die with dignity. How can someone, as a fan, be into the game when they are "marveling" at the wave and anticipating that magic moment when they get to jump up and yell "woooooo!!!!" like a retard at Chucky Cheese.

As for Finebaum...I'm surprised he even spoke to an Auburn fan. He probably has a gallon bucket of hand sanitizer next to his microphone and when he has to talk to anyone other than an Alabama fan, he takes a whore bath with it immediately afterward.

Douchebag...thy name is Finebaum.

Why not? I went for free, but would have found a way to pay to go watch UT play were I forced to.

i normally don't listen to him, i was just switching channels and they were talking the game.

I just want the the vol faithful to step it up. i know the UCLA game was loud. but there is loud, then there SEC loud. We need to be SEC loud this game. I tell 1st visitors to neyland that go to a non-sec game that it's loud, but not as loud as when we play a big SEC team. we need to be loud and hostile all night long.

college athletics stopped being about the students when coaches stopped doubling as gym teachers. You're nuts if you think the students could support what a BCS conf AD has grown into.

Question is, where is all the "energy" and "enthusiasm" that Kiffin brought to the program?

Most UT students are too ignorant to realize it, but charging for student tickets isn't exactly a novel concept. Almost every big football school does it. Only 2 SEC schools have free student tickets: Vandy and USCjr.

Charging for student tickets? That's not right... (IMHO) BUT... If the UT fans don't show up for this game on Saturday then there are worse issues...
I look for this to be a really good, close, physical, game between two SEC schools and you UT fans should be present to support your Vols... I'll be there supporting my Tigers...
Here's to a good football game - in spite of what Slimebaum says...
