failed out of school. He was, at least, All SEC and maybe AA. I know this isn't Tennessee news but it is big.

I have mixed feelings.

On one hand, I hate seeing a kid flunk out of school, especially one with such a bright future.

But on the other, more selfish hand, I'm extremely happy to see Georgia without their best defensive player.

We should know on Vinson in the next couple weeks. The Quest guys aren't 100% confident but still think he gets in.

This got me looking at their depth chart and, dang, they are young. They may be talented but they don't have a ton of senior leadership or experience.

-With the loss of Oliver, they will have 3 starting SRs(Marcus Howard-DE, Brandon Miller-LB, and Kelin Johnson-S) and 1 other player on the entire defensive depth chart that is a SR(Thomas Flowers-3rd string CB).

-The offense is in a little better shape. They have 5 SR starters(Kregg Lumpkin-RB, Sean Bailey-WR, Fernando Velasco-C, Chester Adams-OT, and Mikey Henderson-WR). Depthwise they have 4 SR backups(Thomas Brown-3rd string RB, Jason Johnson-4th string RB, Coleman Watson-2nd string TE, and A.J. Bryant-2nd string WR).

-On defense, they project to have 5 SOs, 3 JRs, and 3 SRs. The 2nd stringers consist of 5 FR, 3 SOs, 2 JRs, and 1 SR.

-On offense, they project the starters to be 2 FR(both on OL, 1 SO, 3 JRs, and 5 SRs. The projected backups are 6 FR(4 on OL), 2 SO, 1 JR, and 2 SRs.

-Their whole OL 12 man depth chart consists of 7 FR(2 TR, 4 RS, 1 TR), 2 SO(1 JUCO), 1 JR(JUCO), and 2 SRs.

-Their 14 man DL depth chart consists of 5 FR(all RS), 4 SO, 4 JR(2 JUCO), and 1 SR.

-Their kickers are both SRs as well.

So yeah, UGA definitely has it's share of question marks, especially in the trenches.

Which basicly says, after next year they will probably own the SEC for a couple of years. This is probably Fulmers best chance to beat Florida, Georgia, and Alabama in the same year.

Most likely, that is dependent on what Richt does, though I doubt it is anything. We bring back quite a bit after this year as well, though. UF does too. I think LSU may start to decline in a year or two. Bama will steadily move up. Auburn will flounder. Arky will flop. USC will stay annoying as long as SOS is there. The rest will stay as bottom feeders until they land a premier coach.

Agreed. The West will improve around LSU, and they will not. Miles' ineptitude will lead to more losses. Eventually, recruiting will suffer and then they'll be second tier.

Miles has also been coaching Saban's players. Now he will get to see what to do with his own talent(though it is at a high level, just never had Saban as a coach).

Is Miles still coaching Saban's players or is he mostly with his own now? It seems like he hasn't had the kind of recruiting Saban did.

Don't get me wrong....if memory serves he's had at least one good class(this year). But I don't recall if he has had a knock out class like Saban did a couple f times at LSU.

As you mentioned, his 2007 class was great...loaded with talent.

His 2006 class was star-studded as well, though...Keiland Williams, Derrick Odom, Jai Eugene, Charles Deas, and Al Woods...off the top of my head.

Didn't 06 have Perolioux as well. I'd like to see that kid ride the pine all year then suck next year. After the way e annointed himself the starter after being recruited. You have to be quite a prima donna to think you should start over the eventual #1 pick. Although I remember the QB situation was in turmoil and Russell hadn't established himself yet.

So the issue with Miles isn't that he can't get talent he just can't coach it. Well this year is probably the year he has to prove that is true or not. Yes he still has some Saban players but he has brought in two years of recruits and by now any influence that Saban had on those left overs is most likely gone.

So now its Miles' time to show whether he's up to it or not. My personnal belief is we will see LSU drop of to a second tier team. I know he's won alot but when you look at the games he's lost you could attriubute those loses to his coaching most of the time.

Perriloux was actually in the 2005 class...that class was small (13 or 14 players, I think), but it was a talented group. And, considering he took over in January, only a month before signing day, that was a solid recruiting class.

So, yeah, Les Miles can recruit...time will tell what kind of coach he is.
