Paul Harris has committed to UT!!!!!

Rivals has him as a 4 star. We only really care about what rivals thinks. ESPN is a joke.

This guy is 6'4. That's what I like. We have brought in some big time WRs the last few years.

247 is quickly becoming the go to site for the most accurate info. They also have Harris as a 4*.

Good get on Paul Harris guys. He is much better than hi "3 star" ranking.

And a quick note on USC. The people in the thread that say that USC were full are right. USC did not have room for Paul Harris.

Don't take that as a slight... I'm pretty sure that USC's staff had him higher on the board than Sebastian Larue, but Larue committed really quickly and took up that spot.

I'm curious to see how early Harris can make an impact there. When he comes in as a freshman, what WRs will still be on the roster? I know Patterson (the JUCO?) will still be there.

Rogers (likely to leave early for NFL Draft)
Hunter (may leave early for NFL Draft)
Patterson
Howard (true freshman this year)
Croom (true freshman this year)
Bowles (true freshman this year)
Blanc (true freshman this year)

So, in other words... if Rogers and Hunter leave early, which is a possibility when Bray and the WRs put up big numbers, then Harris can come in and make an impact as a freshman.

good pickup for the Vols. kid is very underrated. cant get to caught in a kids ranking all the time. its true that USC doesnt have room. they have 3 spots left and already have 3 wrs committed

it appears reading the tea leaves that USCw didn't have room for Harris at this time due to their sanctions. However, since USCw is Harris' "dream school," I don't think this one will be over until the ink dries in February.

If USCw has one of their commits fall through or unable to get in (projected), then they may just come back to PH and flip him...and wouldn't Lane love that...taking one from TN that we have had committed for months.

Just sayin...

To be fair, and I can't believe you guys are making me defend Kiff, you don't think he sits at home and plots ways to destroy UT do you?

He is recruiting. We are recruiting. I don't think it matters who has verbally committed to what school. You simply try to get the best players you can in positions of need. I think the rest is just superfluous BS. Yes, you might have to downplay the other programs, but as mad as we get when others do it to us, don't believe for a second our coaches aren't doing the same thing to them.

It is a necessary evil.

Yes. Yes I do think he sits around plotting ways to destroy UT. You don't? You're not VFL IMO. :ermm:

So you know for a fact that Paul Harris is a boldfaced liar when he says that he picked Tennessee after praying about it and discussing it with his parents for weeks. Okay.

As for me, I have no reason to believe that he didn't pick UT, just as he says he did.

If he were as accomplished and good a liar as you make him out to be, I have to believe he could find somewhere else that he'd be more comfortable. Like Vanderbilt, for one. No way a kid like you are describing isn't more comfortable with Franklin than Dooley.

Ever heard of recruiting rhetoric? God has done a lot, but telling a kid where to go to school? Beware of that voice known as "That little man".

IIRC, Kiff and gang can only take 10 for the next 3 years due to sanctions. Am I wrong?

Think it's 15 that they can take and that you're thinking of the '10' that they are being penalized per year. Also, they have to be down to 75 total by next fall, not sure if it's 65 the following year or what.

P.S. - Appears they can take 18 this year due to backcounting.

Thanks, I believe you're absolutely correct sir. :hi:

USC can take up to 18 commitments this year as long as 3 are EEs but cannot exceed 75 total scholarships in the fall of 2013.

I never said anything remotely like God told him to do it. My point was that Bruno's post (USC "wouldn't" take his commitment", meaning he tried to commit and they said, 'no thanks') leads you to either the conclusion that this kid is a liar and a very polished and good one, or that Bruno is guessing and at least wrong about the kid's perspective on it.

I just think, based on how this kid talks and comports himself at the age of 16 or 17 that it is substantially more likely that he made his own decision just as he claimed to and that Bruno is just making a pessimistic guess that serves his purpose of generally being negative. I'm willing to bet that the kid is more well informed about the process than Bruno, too.

The only person talking about God having made the decision is you. I think that's ludicrous on it's face.

So, long and short of it is that there is reasonable evidence to support Harris' version and nothing but blind faith and general pessimism to support Bruno's. There's not a soul on this board who knows what the USC coaching staff would have done if Harris had committed there and I don't have any faith in Bruno being somehow omnicient. So, I will believe Harris' version until I see credible evidence to the contrary.

I think anyone who thinks about what Kiff does at all, isn't a VFL. As far as I am concerned, he and his progeny are erased from my memory. And when I am forced to contemplate him, I refuse to think that he is there with some sort of ill will against this program. I don't think he cares, nor do I.

However many stars this kid has doesn't seem to negate the fact that he had offers from every major program in the country and will be 6'4 200 by the time he hits campus. Keep em comin!!!!!

How many wide recievers do we need? I like the committ but time to get to work in the secondary. We are going to be losing too many impact upper classmen there the next couple of years. Also, when is the last time we've had a dynamic returner? Is Devrin Young, Cody Blanc or one of these guys going to step up this year? I miss the Terry Fairs back in the day taking them to the house...and Willie Gault before him.

I thought we didn't have any depth at WR? Hmm
