yah but they want to save $12 million

Show causes don’t have much leverage as it relates to recruiting violations unless Pruitt was caught hand delivering money or pulling a Tuberville by leaving an incriminating voicemail on the wrong phone.

It will mitigate the settlement.

The character clauses where a coach gets nothing are for things like pulling a Dave Bliss and covering up a murder or getting caught with kiddie porn.

stupid for admitting violations. NCAA is inept and can't prove a he said, she said case. Best practice is to obfuscate a while then settle."

Thinks management had ulterior motive for falling on sword so swiftly.

I can buy some of this.

We just held a presser to say we do what everyone else does. But we are going to now use it to get out of paying a buyout.

Good luck on that next hire.

Pruit, Ned, and Felton gone with no buy money needed. Ansley possibly looking around and leaving no buy out money needed. There is only 3 guys who do not have expiring contracts left Chaney, Graham, and Weinke. There is no money left to pay our to former staffs either. So I would say this was all about the money.

Getting rid of Pruitt
Saving 12-15 million

Tennessee has been terrible for well over a decade......without the NCAA’s help

Finebum is an idiot........”if” Tennessee makes the right hire......they will be fine......and probably much better off.

If they make another “wrong” hire......well there still in the same boat and plus millions.

It will be hard for the NCAA to hammer Tennessee to hard when North Carolina, LSU, Miami and others were caught trying to cover things up and later caught red handed only to recieve minor penalties. Tennessee in this case caught their coaches and notified the NCAA that they were doing a investigation into their findings and did not attempt to cover anything up. In the end, that should help Tennessee. They talked a little this afternoon how the NCAA has been channeling more punishment to coaches as to the school in certain situations especially when schools reports and investigates instead of covering up and hiding.

The money is great to save paying someone so bad at his job would have been a crime. But this is more on how deep the rabbit hole is. Way to many people knew what was going on for this to be pushed under the rug. Look how many were fired for cause and believe me other schools know as well and are trying to get there Ducks in a row. In CHRIST Alone

Jurmy, we barely knew ye. I hope they settle. If they can settle with Pearl, they can settle with him. Not a bad guy.

Just listen to Josh Pate. Even if Pruitt would have gotten away with things this time, he was inevitably going to f this up. It was the right move.
