Paul finebaum show

Actually, Phyllis is a hospice caregiver who is currently nursing her husband through stage four cancer while taking care of her adult handicapped son, but let's just laugh about the prat attorney who calls up and dogs her for her "unsuccessful life" and non productivity in society and make fun of her for being stupid.

Don't have a problem with anyone laughing about the Kanye West thing. That was funny. But the rest of Andy's elitist pseudointellectual crap was NOT funny. Makes me sick, quite frankly, because the chicken sh*t wouldn't date try that crap with me.

That is truly tough situation that she has to deal with and I am sure that other people that call in and every where in life that have similar situations that a lot people don't know about. I have heard when she has called in and dished it out to other folks and you know the old saying about that. I think the guy took it a little to far but she should be able to take some of the grief she gets from other callers.

MsCelina,

Where can I find the following info?

1. Over the past 7 years, how many game opening possessions has Tennessee scored on?

and,

2. Of those games, they have scored on their opening possession, how many ended in victory?

I tried the ol Google machine, but all I get is W/L stats.

TIA

I am not sure if there is an easier, more direct route to obtain this information in a nice composite chart format, but you can obtain the data requested in the following manner:

(1) From the athletic department's home page for football (University of Tennessee Official Athletic Site), click on the History link (University of University of Tennessee Official Athletic Site - Football).

(2) From the "Tennessee Football Year-by-Year Archive," go, for example, to the "2014 Final Stats" link (University of University of Tennessee Official Athletic Site - Football).

(3) From that page, click, then, on the "Box score" link for the game desired. If, for example, you click on the link for the 2015 Tax Slayer Bowl, that will take you to the following page: University of University of Tennessee Official Athletic Site - Football.

(4) From there, you can find the information you desire by clicking on the "Drive Chart" link for that game.

Note: The "Tennessee Football Year-by-Year Archive" will allow you to retrieve the specific information you requested all the way back to the 2003 season, but it will still be a time-consuming process. If anyone can offer a more direct route to accessing this data online, kudos to them.

Oh I wholeheartedly agree, and tbh I am still laughing about kanye west playing for bama, god love her. But I absolutely cannot abide people (like Andy the arrogant lawyer and a couple of posters in this thread) who in their rush to kick someone who's down decide to apply a broad stereotype to someone they do not know. Not everyone has the same talents and opportunities as the rest of us. That doesn't make them a worthless member of society by any means. As I pointed out when I called the PFS later that afternoon, Andy wouldn't have dared to come at me like that b/c he knows I would have destroyed him. He's a bully and a coward and a despicable ahyster ambulance chaser of the worst sort.

But...kanye west?

Smfh

Laugh at that. Leave the lady alone.

Much better answer than mine. I was just going to say 'Google is your friend' and let it go at that. :))

I watched today and happened to catch the show.Phyllis talking about Kanye West and Cooper being on the roster was hilarious! She's got passion for her team but lacks some football IQ "personnel, scheme etc".Tammy falls into this category as well.Don't get me started on Jim.That guy has got a major ego complex.I've never even heard of this crazy a** until last year when I started watching Finebaum.Larry sounds drunk every time he calls. Some of the callers do perpetuate the "ignorant redneck"stereotypes. But that Andy guy is a p***k for sure.Pompous lawyer type.I wish somebody would put him in his place.

Wow. Didn't know that. To be honest, I thought she was a plant Finebaum used to get more people to call into the show. I hate to hear she is going through so much adversity.

Thanks. I am gonna try and see if the info I'm looking for is there this afternoon

Finebaum has said Tennessee will beat Oklahoma and Georgia..and reserves judgement on UF till we beat them..what the hell else do you want??

Being a UT student in the late '70s and living in Alabama over the years - I have lots of Finebaum experience. ESPN is giving him some national exposure, and he is new to a lot of folks. He's pretty much the same guy all these years.

A side of him that most people have yet to be exposed to, is how he goes after a coach on the ropes. As a UT guy, it was very entertaining to listen to his non stop talking as one Bama football coach after another bit the dust. (These would be, starting with Gene Stallings, Mike Dubose, Mike Price, Mike Shula, Dennis Franchione)

The Bama fanbase, IMO, the most hypersensitive fan base in the country. This period also included NCAA sanctions too (Thank you CPF).

I have said it before in this thread, but recent events are revealing this fact. Who knows exactly how drunk Steve Sarkisian was this past weekend when addressing boosters? Finebaum yesterday was like a starving wolf - dedicated most of the first half (I DVR it and have to turn if off after an couple of hours) to Steve Sarkisian and Pat Hayden at USC. Pawl can sure stir the pot.

Maybe it needs to be stirred, I don't know. Now that he's got a national stage - the USC fanbase is going to get a dose of him. Paul will keep this in the limelight enough that action will eventually be taken. I pretty much give him credit for accelerating the ouster of a couple of Bama coaches. Glory be...

Stay tuned..

P.S. Frequent caller Lance from Tennessee wearing an orange and white shirt in his avatar; a gator fan that looks like he is wearing pirate patch on his eye. Reminds me of an old caller who has since passed away - Shane from Centre point. I can sum it in one sentence "Eat up with it".

@CelinaSummers

And I agree entirely. Doesn't matter that she's a poor misguided Bama fan. She's a human being with a hard life and one outlet.

Andy was just on. I guess everyone's been calling in giving him hell over the Phyllis thing yesterday. He went on to say he's taken tons of abuse over the time he's been calling the show. Then he said something about not calling him out unless you can handle the repercussions. I think it was his way of calling out mscelina ;)

Still haven't caught one of your calls.... Haven't paid enough attention. So go ahead and call in now while I am :p

I believe I randomly heard one of your call-ins a month or so ago. Calmly carved up the previous caller. Remembered thinking. "That's an awesome southern accent coming out of Ohio...wonder if she knows about VolNation?". FWIW...I think Paul has a crush on you. :wink2:

This. However I would support a petition to the university to void his biased traitorous arse's UT diploma. My guess is Bama would be happy to issue him an honorary red elephant diploma.

Paul Finebaum is a modern PT Barnum...he plays the marks very well - all the way to the bank...when he's not hosting the double digit IQ crowd, he is actually interesting and insightful...but he know it's the suckers who pay the bills...

See, I haven't found him to be a very good interviewer at all. His responses to the people he interviews are frequently not coherent with what they've just said (as if he didn't listen to them at all), he doesn't ask the most insightful questions, he has the personality of a stale tuna sandwich. He's bright, but not at all engaging. I just don't get him.

Not saying he's not a marketing genius, the dude is clearly making money hand over fist. He attracts a certain crowd, of whom there are apparently a whole lot in the southeastern US.

He's just not my cup of tea, I guess.
