I wanted to use the word "snide" but knew it would be miss or not understood just as you don't understand the very simple term used. I did not say anything about things being said were negative. No, I get what you're saying but I disagree with your reading of it. I don't think the Norris-style jokes are intended to make fun of Bain at all. I understand that if he were a player that had proven to be a lesser contributor and jokes were made to sarcastically call out great exploits in contrast to poor abilities, then those jokes would be snide and mean-spirited. But I never saw that in his case. They started immediately upon his introduction after we saw his epic badass headshot from Tusculum and his cool-ass name. We didn't know yet if he was going to be good, other than that his tape looked promising, but the jokes were a direct reaction to a swagger-heavy intro. It was always about celebrating assumed awesomeness (even if it was superficial) but they were not sarcastic put-downs. And now that we have a sense of who and what he is, we know he really is awesome.

Fwiw, I wasn't intending to call you out directly. I just feel like I've been a bit of a broken record on here defending the Bain jokes. GBO
