You missed the most important part. He wasn't talking about Tennessee in general - it's obvious his interest was real - but that interest wasn't mutual. He was talking about the AD and how they had already decided on Kiffin (which, according to posters connected to the program, was exactly the case), so it was kind of a slap in the face to Patterson more than anything. Once again this is all the result of a bad AD who was looking for yes-men or a "splash hire" rather than an established, well respected coach like Patterson. Oh what could've been...

The administration believed that they were getting the NWO that would come in and take over for years, revolutionizing how college coaching was handled. Just like with Nash you had Scott Hall and Hogan, with Kiffin you got daddy, the Ogre and the rest of the band.

The administration got swerved with a huge heel turn a few weeks before National Signing Day.

Like I said in another thread, since Fulmer, Haslam and his puppets have sold us Kiffin, Dooley, and Butch with a combined record of 58-53 and ranked 12th of 14 SEC teams since 09.

Keep buying that 💩 sandwich fellow Vol fans and you will get more of it
