The Bray/Worley discussion got me thinking about this. I know we're all excited about Bray, our QB situation in general, and many are optimistic for a future. That being said, I do think we need to be patient next year.

Bray looked good, but we need to keep in mind that:
a) his three top targets won't be returning
b) while talented, the offensive line will still be young
c) the running game still won't be the greatest
d) we'll play a lot of tough games early, especially some tough ones on the road

I hope everyone is patient and people don't immediately call for Worley to come in when Bray has some trouble. I don't see there being a real QB controversy at Tennessee, even if I expect fans to call for a change as soon as something goes wrong. In spite of problems he may have, I'm confident they will be fixed. The Vols should have a very good offense by the end of the year and especially in 2012. Just don't panic if there's a bit of a sophomore slump at first.

People are just going to have to be patient next year with both sides of the ball. Those going in with expectations of us putting up 40 ppg are just unrealistic.

Amen to all of that, but here is hoping we have some :loco: moments often this season.

I don't think this is understood enough, I love Hunter and Rogers, but the experience, skill, and leadership of those three seniors will greatly be missed.

Yep, particularly with the O-line situation. They may need a few thousand more double-cheesburgers and a couple years in the weight room to protect Bray.

No doubt, and it's easy to forget that Bray will be pretty dang young himself as a true sophomore, he'll be what 19 or 20? The intermediate passing game is going to need a ton of work, as G Jones absolutely killed it for UT in this department especially on 3rd down.

Also, will Hunter be playing spring ball? I'd guess not so the WR QB relationship between him and Bray is going to take some time to get back in sync before it can begin to improve

How long will it be before some start calling for Bray to sit and Worley to play? Could be interesting to watch.

Will Zack Rogers be up there in the first tier?

Who will be the receivers other than Hunter, Milton and Rogers?

Tight ends?

I don't think it's going to be much of a debate when Worley is standing off to the side with a redshirt on. If Bray gets hurt or pulls a sophomore slump ala Ainge, then it will be Simms.

The emotion that bray showed after the Nc game showed Passion and fellas its been a while since we've had passion. Talent is great to have, but if you don't have passion, the possession of talent will fall if that makes sence.

Yea i think we're either gonna be great (10-2) or average (6-6). I don't think there is gonna be any in between

During the summer, the QB's and receivers will spend hours of their spare time getting their timing together. Also, I think their development will be tremendous this off season.
CCB is a great wr coach. They will develope sooner than we expect.

Slightly off topic, but I say first play against Montana, deep throw to Hunter. Kick this thing off right.

I agree that the three seniors will definitely be missed early.

I think so. If Miss. State can go 8-4 in Mullen second season then the Vols should. Miss. State also played gators and dawgs from the east.
The worst UGA and Florida teams in some time. (Who coincidentally, were a lot better than Tennessee)

We could very well get killed in all 3 games against the West.

Great avatar.

My thoughts on Bray. This will be his toughest season.

He went out last year and had nothing to lose. He slung it around and made some amazing plays. Also made some head scratchers.

He will have a lot more pressure on him this season as expectations are high. I think he can handle it, but will be tough. Chaney will expect a lot more out of him in terms of reading a D and not just throwing it up for grabs. He will need someone to step for him like D Moore did.

In short, we will have to take the good with the bad. I think there will be plenty of both.
