Pat Forde is a tool

Stopped reading after "Pat Forde is a tool ".

Nuff said right there.

Same with Wolken.

At least Wolken is more up front with his overall disdain for anything UT. He's never come out and said he hates UT, but he doesn't really try and hide it, either. Forde still tries to act like he's impartial and the emperor of fairness and justice.

Who cares? Do any of you wish we would of hired schiano instead? No? Then what does it matter what Pat Ford thinks? He’s just butt hurt you don’t think like him.

You mean you prefer to be looking at major NCAA sanctions. Schiano had the same number of wins, with less total games, and didn't get blown out except by Oh St while Pruitt had 4 blow outs.

Outsiders writing about what transpired at UT is like a third grader trying to figure out how a man walked on the moon. The fans will be the only chance this ground up program will have any chance of recovery.

Schiano isn't going to sleep with you, dude, no matter how much you carry water here for that POS.

Pruitt doing bad doesn’t change the fact that Schiano was potentially enabling a dude raping children. Funny how the liberal media decides what is and Isn’t worthy of the moral crusades

True.

Wolken was a p**ck regarding all things TN going back to his Memphis days.

For whatever reason Forde hates Tennessee but take out the program digs and hyperbole and he's not wrong. He just dug it in and twisted the knife. Fuggin jerk.

It’s still so frustrating because vol fans did what he had to do. Your so powerless as a fan. The o Ky thing you can do is voice displeasure. If enough fans rise up it can make a difference. We were able to twarth the guy from New Jersey that’s never coached in the south that everyone who’s even known hates the at was on the roster when a pedophile was abusing hundreds of kids...we did what we had to do. Most fans didn’t want fulmer to come in and take over and most of us were utterly disappointed when Pruitt was tabbed. But there was zero chance at a second protest. We just had to sit n ur hands and hope for the best. Pruitt immediately proved to be the wrong guy for the job. For him to speak like a hillbilly starlight out of the holler in press conferences (while holding a college degree) was embarrassing. But more so was the piss poor management of the players and mainly qb position out in the field.
Fulmer did the most fulmer thing imaginable. He went out and hire a guy that couldn’t say no because he had no other option. A guy that wanted to play old school smash mouth ball with a bruising defense and a run heavy offense. I don’t know a single fan that was excited by that. We all know it’s an offensive game today. We needed an offensive minded, intelligent, creative, ballsy coach. That’s who wins in today’s game.
So again as fans we have to sit back and hear them all laugh at us. Because an idiot hired an idiot, who hired and idiot.

Forde doesn’t understand ‘backfired’. Fans weren’t against him because of recruiting violations or winning %, it was because he was connected to the pedo at PSU. ‘Backfired’ would be if Pruitt or staff was connected to covering up disgusting abuse, not money given to recruits.

Man do you actually think he is going to see this?

It's like dudes that are friends with a user on a social media site that posts hot chicks and they keep saying I love you under the posting but it's run by a dude.

No amount of squawking by Forde, Wolken, any other of the usual hacks will make UT fans regret Schiano Sunday. We never wanted him and we never will. Just because my steak was overcooked doesn’t mean I regret not ordering the kale salad

The Pat Ford article in on the SI site is just crap. Typical 2021, self righteous, woke crap.

"Three years ago, Vols fans were thrilled they had thwarted plans to hire Greg Schiano and landed a 'Tennessee man' at AD. Boy, has that backfired."

"Oh, it was for the worse. Much worse. A ridiculous, myopic, huckster-driven fan uprising has lurched to a predictable end: embarrassment, financial malpractice, alleged major NCAA violations, consistent losing … and, now, a total program reset that includes the Monday firing of Pruitt and nine staffers, plus the sudden retirement of Fulmer."

"Flush with revolutionary fervor, Tennessee fans were very busy congratulating themselves on Dec. 1, 2017."

Just beating on Tennessee fans like we are one homogenous group of ignorant hillbillies.

Besides it's just intellectually lazy, but then you went to Mizzou, guess we can only expect so much from a BJ.

Or perhaps you have a DSM-IV personality disorder which drives you to criticise others in an effort to improve your personal confidence or little brother issues with your university?

For the record, since you didn't bother to actually investigate but cherry-picked a few social media quotes which reflect your point of view; a large majority of fans and alumni were not at all pleased with the actions of some idiots on campus in 2017 or the University leadership that caved in.

But again, you went to Mizzou, (giggle) with your cute high school-sized little stadium, I'm sure you are proud of safe space U.

The standard is different at Tennessee, and yes we have fallen short of that, it's why this bothers us, we expect better.

We love our state, our university, our Vols.

So perhaps act like a real journalist or stick to reporting on the mediocrity at your alma mater.
Quit reading his articles

The only real justice would be condemning Pat Forde to the hell of writing longform articles on a never-ending Westminster Kennel Club dog show, only the dogs all have diarrhea and the concessions stands sell nothing but White Claws.

That said, I recall a lot of positive sentiment on this forum and elsewhere when people rallied and protested the Schiano hiring - and a whole lot of pride around here in having stopped that process. To this day, I still think that reaction had less to do with Schiano and more to do with pent up frustration combined with "losing out" on Gruden. Oh I know, this reason or that, but after being teased with Gruden on the sidelines in a Tennessee polo, and the plane trackers, and Paul Finebaum saying the rumors were credible and Gruden had been contacting potential staff, and all that crap -- only to have the Chucky rug pulled out from under them - a lot of folks were on the warpath.
