Dang there were some great wins in the last 15 years (mostly pre 2010 of course) but still it hasn't been all bad. To tired to give examples but trust me there have been. The last 5 years? Thank you South Carolina that's about it.

Losing streaks to bama, Florida, getting thumped by candy, losing to a wr at qb against ky, hobnail boot, LSU. I'm gonna quit before I cry.

My first year of actively following the team was 2005. Two memories stick out in my mind that burn:

1. The Awkward silence and overall sense of unease walking into the hotel after the UAB game.

2. Sharing a taxi ride with a nice Commodore couple before the game and my uncle jokingly telling them not to beat up on us too bad.

1. 2001 SEC championship
2. 2005 vs Uga Jason Allen goes to tackle Leonard Pope and is lost for the season, there were a lot of bad parts to that season. The loss to Florida was bad, so was the goal line fumble vs Bama, and losing to Cutler and Vandy was icing on a crap cake. But that play with Allen getting hurt was when I came to the realization we were terribly overrated
3. 2006 vs UF, this game sucked bad. Might be the most painful loss for me in the series.
4. 2006 vs LSU we had battled back up the rankings and were so close to winning, seems like they converted 3 fourth down conversions on the game winning drive
5. 2004 vs Notre Dame, lost Ainge on a stupid hail mary call by Randy Sanders right before the half of a game we were winning.
6. 2003 vs Uga another game that had a big swing right before halftime, Clausen going in to score but fumbles and 100 yards later the game is over
7. 2001 vs Uga It was unbelievable, but it was early in the season and the team bounced back well.
8. 2007 SEC championship vs LSU once again they convert a bunch of 3rd and longs and 4th down conversions that left me speechless
9. 2007 vs Bama hated losing to Saban the way we did in his first season at Bama, just no passion from the players or coaches
10. 2010 vs LSU this game gave me a false sense of confidence in Dooley that I held onto for too long.
11. 2010 vs UNC Music City Bowl I never thought I would give a crap about a Music City Bowl outcome. If we don't botch a extra point it never goes to Overtime
12. 2014 vs Florida they had no offense and no QB, but they got a W
13. 2012 vs Mizzou We jumped out to a huge lead, Dooley took his foot off the gas, still could of sealed the deal with a chip shot field goal but missed somehow, at midfield with 33 seconds left and we don't even try to get into field goal range
14. 2013 vs Uga both teams moving the ball at will, we could of forced Uga to use their time outs instead we leave them with 3 time outs and 1:54 on the clock.
15. 2007 outback Bowl vs Penn State I've wanted to see Tennessee beat PSU in a bowl game since I was a kid, the way things were going that day if Arian Foster punches it in for a touchdown in the fourth quarter instead of losing a fumble that went for six 90 yards the other way it would of been over.

Losing to Kentucky, Wyoming and Vandy in 2013 were all embarrassing, but at that point in those seasons I'd seen enough bad football that those games really didn't mean much win or lose.

I lived in New Orleans when we lost the SEC CG to LSU in 2001 after whipping their butts during the season. That's easily the biggest disappointment to me, considering how much better we were than LSU that year, and that if we had won we had a chance to play in the Rose Bowl. But instead we showed up in our tuxedos and LSU came ready to play.

Fulmer could have added another SEC Champ Ring and National Champ Ring to the collection but failed to get his team's mind right after beating the Gators in the Swamp.

Here's what's the worst for me ... and they are all technically wins. :-\

UAB - Win in OT at HOME!!! :-o

Troy - Literally OVER 4/10 of a MILE on offense at HOME!!!

USA - Saved game on last play INT in endzone at HOME!!!

... we came THIS close to falling to #6 in the rankings ... in the State of Alabama!!! :-o

We have suffered immensely the past 15 years, but especially the past 8 or so years.

Coincidentally, my "hardcore" fandom didn't begin until the 2007 season, so I got to enjoy obsessively following the Vols (as opposed to casually) for precisely one year before the suckage began.

You sir deserve a medal

"It's great to see all these people disappointed"--Will Muschamp, last year. Still makes me want to to fry up a whole mess of fat Gator fritters.

One that really bothers me is the LSU game that Crompton had to fill in for. On the winning drive LSU clearly fumbled, but it was unreviewable.

It hasn't been 15 years of immense suffering. It's been 7...2008-2014. The 8 years prior, 2000-2007, we were 71-31 overall, 44-20 in the SEC, played in 7 bowl games, finished in the Top 25 5 times, played in 3 SECCGs....very little suffering.

2005 - losing to a mediocre South Carolina team. It was Spurrier's 1st season in South Carolina and the expectations were that Tennessee would drill him without his Florida talent. We lost 16-15 at home, and Randy Sanders rightfully resigned after that game.

Too many to choose from! I'll list my top 5...

2001 SEC Championship game is definitely my biggest one. To this day I haven't quite gotten over it. We were the more talented team and got out played in the 2nd half! 30 minutes away from competing for a national championship and we blew it!

2007 SEC Championship game. We weren't supposed to win this but by god, Fulmer had our team ready to play and Chavis' defense was vicious that game! We were flat out laying the wood to LSU. I thought we were going to win right up to when Ainge threw that 4th quarter interception. Heartbreaking!

2014 Florida Game. I just KNEW we were getting the monkey off our backs last year! Classic case of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory!

2009 Alabama. The infamous Mt. Cody field goal block! We were sooooo damn close with this game!

2010 LSU. You all know the story. LSU had us out talented by a mile but we somehow hung in there and had the lead at the end. Then Doofus suddenly couldn't count, we end up with 13 men on the field, and the rest is historY!

I have a theory on what happened in 2010. LSU had a 2 QB system, Jefferson who was a runner and Lee who was a passer. UT probably had two defensive sets that were automatic, so if Lee was out there then one group would be out there, if it was Jefferson then a different group. Well in the confusion on LSU's side both Jefferson and Lee were on the field before the play. UT defenders saw "their guy" was out there and ran on the field. Well Lee ran off and the defenders who weren't supposed to be out there didn't see it in time. Some fun facts about that ending. In 2010 replay officials were not allowed to call a penalty based on watching the replay. Since no flag was thrown during the play it should not have been called. Also if that penalty was called then the LSU player who threw his helmet while the ball was live should have also been fouled. We got hosed by the NCAA bc we were the little guys.
