I've deduced that they close it when there's an event at TBA so traffic exiting the two venues won't be fighting each other on Lake Loudon. But I do think it's completely asinine as the entire G16 garage has to sit in line and proceed to ONE EXIT.UT Parking Services made the genius decision to close the bottom floor exit to G16 tonight. Makes zero sense to close 1 of 2 exits to a parking garage. Theres no rhyme or reason as to when they keep it open after games or close it. Just really inefficient.
I thought that but I recall it being closed when TBA is vacant but could be mistaken.I've deduced that they close it when there's an event at TBA so traffic exiting the two venues won't be fighting each other on Lake Loudon. The PA announcer this weekend was announcing the end of the inning with the “TN left 2 men on base, etc” when there was only 2 outs. They don’t bother updating the crowd when games are going to resume during weather delays or even provide the actual player positions on thr scoreboard. Instead, they simply provide INF or OUT. It’s pretty sloppy and hasn’t been a quality operation this season.I'm sure a lot of it has to do with construction issues and an incomplete stadium...but we have completely and totally struggled with gameday ops this year. Traffic, parking, stadium ops (not counting Rodney at the gate), handling weather, public address (both in game and general announcements) and several other areas have all kind of been a mess at different points.
Zero consistency in a lot of areas. Hopefully there's more focus coming into next year.
(Granted, It feels like we've had barely a handful of 'normal' series at home. Almost every weekend feels like there's been either a change in start times, delays, forced DHs, etc)
This still doesn’t make sense when starting and ending times aren‘t close to the same for the 2 events. It’s just laziness or incompetence by UT Parking Services.I've deduced that they close it when there's an event at TBA so traffic exiting the two venues won't be fighting each other on Lake Loudon. I don't think it makes sense even when the starting and ending times are close. They have officers out there directing traffic even just for baseball games when people are parking in G16 and G5; I have faith that they could direct additional cars coming out of the G5 side. This still doesn’t make sense when starting and ending times aren‘t close to the same for the 2 events.
