i disagree with you guys TOTALLY, who think 5 win teams going to bowls is ridiculous. i dont care if it its 2 winless teams playing in a bowl game. its more college football to be watched. the nfl is adding 2 games. nascar has an already ridiculously long season. so does mlb. more college football games wont hurt my feelings one bit. in fact a bowl game with 2 winless teams would be as interesting as some of the upper tier matchups.

Neither ashamed, nor proud. Our team simply is what it is right now. I want to get back to not only contending but actually WINNING some championships!

If it comes down to the bowls having to take a 5 win team, Tennessee will get a look based on how our fans travel.

It's a little premature, but there is no reason why we can 't win out. I would be happy with any bowl. Not so much for the bowl, but for the extra practice time for the youngsters and early enrollees to get a start on next year. I would go to either bowl to pull for the Vols.

Well, I would be proud! I think it will take 6 wins for TN to get into a bowl. I don't see any 5 win SEC teams getting an invite to a bowl game. If TN is capable of putting a 4 game win streak together, I'd be proud as everything for this team. I realize it would be against 4 lesser competetive teams, but it would still be a good accomplishment for this team considering the adversity they have faced over the last year or two.

6-6 is mediocrity. I will never be proud of mediocrity regardless of the circumstances. At this point however I would certainly take it. 6-6 and going to the toilet bowl is better than 2-10, 3-9, 4-8, or 5-7 and staying at home.

I could see Music City picking a 6-6 TN over some other teams. MC bowl picks before Papa Johns. MC bowl has wanted TN for a long time. If TN wins out, it will be in MC.

Toilet bowl is better huh? I really don't see the difference for the exception of playing an extra game.

If they take a 5 win team then Tennessee to Music City for sure. But if Tennessee wins 6 games i still think they would take the Vols over another SEC team.

I'm not sure I even classify a 6-6 as mediocrity, but I would still be proud of this "team." I would NOT proud for the state of the program. I don't think you could expect much more out of the group of player we currently have, so I'd be proud of this team for getting as much out of the team as they could. I might be considered mediocity compared against other teams, but it would be an extremely good effort and out come for this group of talent.
