This pandemic has pulled the curtain back on a lot of things. The storm is coming.

The enigma here is how we can look solid for 2-3/4 of a game but get blown out in Q3..... So disappointing and shows we are not making adjustments or anticipating what the other team will do to stop us. Most coaches will say they know exactly what the other guys are doing by Q2. Last year our 2nd half adjustments (defensively) were awesome; this year not so much. With a competent QB I believe this team looks far different but who really knows.....

I think with our old schedule we got in a cycle. We started off poorly with our gauntlet of usually a tough OOC opponent followed by the UF, UGA and Bama gauntlet and multiple early losses only to be lulled to sleep by the relatively easier second half of the schedule. We would end the season with a couple of wins strung together against a cupcake, the cocks, Kentucky and Vandy and feel like we had turned a corner. Everyone would say "next year" and then we would repeat. This season has definitely exposed that we are no where near a year away from anything.

Well, we lost every game in 2017, so you can't say the problem was hidden. I don't think it's confusing. This year, we beat SC and Missouri. We're better than Vandy. I would say worse than all the rest of the East.

The cupcakes on the schedule whipped our butts last year. It was the crappy SEC teams that allowed us to stagger back off the mat. Unfortunately, this year we are crappier than the crappy SEC teams for the most part.

Says a lot about Pruitt in general.

Can't get anyone among his recruits to step up and be a team leader.

Can't adjust on the fly and get a QB even close to ready after watching Guarantano implode repeatedly.

Can't adjust his defense to defend the middle of the field.

Can't manage his staff or keep them on the same page with the pay cut debacle and firing Brumbaugh after 4 games.

And I don't think his recruiting is the end all be all either because none of these players really stand out from an athletic standpoint against an all SEC schedule.

Fulmer definitely made a career out of dominating Vandy, Kentucky, and a homecoming patsy every November.

One thing is for sure the Pandemic hurt some teams more than others with no Spring Training, missed practices due to COVID and opt outs.
Losers were typically teams with high turnover or loss of key players (LSU, GA QB/offense, TN, KY?).
Winners teams with depth and experience: AL, aTm, FL).
Surprise winner: Overachiever Arkansas.
Teams that went about as expected: SCAR, Vandy, MissSt, Mizzou, Ole Miss, and Auburn.

A much bigger theme beyond COVID is that teams with modern offenses are distancing themselves from the pack, even against teams with dominating defenses.

Well, the SEC has upgraded with coaches. the only cupcakes left are us and Vandy. I knew early on this would be a crappy season. 5 &5 at best. USCjr is getting ready to make a change. I'm just glad we caught them and Mizzou early. Wow, I can't see a lite at the end of this tunnel....
