Palardy's Camp Thread

Maybe 170 something, but as long as he doesn't have to have over 20 carries a game, I don't see why he couldn't be a very productive back.

This

He is the #2 RB, nobody is asking him to carry the load, he would likely see 10-15 touches per game running and passing and that is pretty reasonable for a smaller guy.

Look at Darren Sproles, dude is tiny, but had the most yards and YPC on the saints with by far the fewest amount of carries between their main 3 guys. That is how I envision DY being utilized.

last spring, Skeeter was singing the praises of Marlin Lane. in the season, he looked ok, although the O line was garbage. this spring he earned the starting spot, and has been coached by Jay Graham all year. now he drops to 3rd in the depth chart behind a kid that got a hand full of carries last year. i just dont get it.

Possible that Neal and young just showed more and took more from the coaching of cjc? I'd like to think that Neal and young jumped up the depth chart, not that lane fell down.

Dooley said Lane didn't do anything wrong, the coaches aren't disappointed in Marlin Lane. It's just that Neal and DY have done better in fall camp. Lane is going to carry the ball plenty this fall, just not on the first play of the NCSU game.

I don't see why people are disappointed. We always say we want players to step up and TAKE a position, and Raijon Neal has done that. Devrin Young has worked and TAKEN the #2 tailback spot. This is GOOD news. Raijon Neal, in my opinion, outworked Marlin Lane. Neal is going to beast this year. Lane has time - maybe it will motivate him to outwork someone in the future. Excited about our depth at TB, honestly.

was it confirmed in an interview with Dooley that DY is the #2 guy now?

Competition is what you want. You don't want a guy being handed the starting spot and the guys behind him not giving any effort. Nothing makes guys better than having to fight for playing time. If we all expected Lane to take the starting spot, and it turns out he has played well but fallen to #3 in the depth chart, that is nothing but good news.

What's the real deal on bourque. Was he afraid to compete or is there any truth to the trash his dad in spewing.

im disappointed because i bought into the Lane hype last year. i am happy for Neal because he's done everything the coaches have asked of him, and given 100%. i hope he has a breakout season. he deserves it. i just thought that Lane was going to be an out of this world caliber back, the way Skeeter was talking him up.

I finally figured out PLARS true identity.

It's not palardy, bc you'll notice in his last update that he used the phrase "working like heck"

Should change his name to Phil-ardy Like A Rock Star

So you think it's out of the realm of possibility that the coaches moved him to #2 on the depth chart to see if it would motivate Lane? Interesting.....

It doesn't really matter at this point. I am SO READY to watch this rotation. I hope the defense finds themselves bracing for a head on hit from Neil, and get out cut by DY. I hope they stand still in a freeze preparing for a DY cut, and get their asses plowed by Neil.
And I also hope Marlin Lane does a Montario Hardesty spin and causes the D to reach out for air and fall on
THEIR FACES!!

:clapping:
