I hope he is legit, because a great kicker is a huge advantage. In watching several bowl games (and the regular season), it seems to me that kickers aren't as accurate as they used to be. It drives me crazy to see coaches settle for 35-45 yard field goals near the end of games when they could pick up more yards and greatly improve their chances (TN vs AL). Unless I've got a great kicker, and there doesn't seem to be an abundance of those, I'm getting every yard I can. A 40-yard field goal under pressure is simply not a high percentage kick for most college kickers. Perhaps this is just my perception and they are actually more accurate than they've ever been.

Palardy is all that. And then some. Sit back and watch cause it's gonna be something special when the kid hits the field in orange and white.

I have seen St. Thomas play in person and they are at the top. They just had 1 bad game this year.

East Carolina's kicker just missed a 39-yarder with a minute to play. At least they were aggressive and tried to score 6 or make it a PAT.

I agree. Yes a kicker is important, especially in CLK offense. But this guy has what, 90% percent touchbacks in kickoff's in HS? He has a leg. He seems to have the confidence. A off season under this strength and conditioning program will do wonders for him. He is ALL THAT.

East Carolina's kicker just missed another 39-yarder with :03 to play. Unless I'm EXTREMELY confident in my guy, I'm not attempting until I'm well inside the 20.

hes gotta be better than lincoln or mathis, and as long as he can consistently get the ball over the off. and def. line he will be an improvement

It is 10 degrees there. The air is very dense and the ball is a rock in those conditions. It isn't easy.

We are talking about a kicker right? I realize after this years woes, we are in need of him but he is still a kicker.

We've had this discussion before GahLee. Obviously you and I don't agree. If you want to point it out everytime the subject comes up, feel free. Just don't expect me to rehash it with you. :hi:

The kicking game is not one of the seven maxims because they couldn't think of anything else. The breaks are indeed made in the kicking game. I seem to remember a Bama game we would have won if we had a kicker.

I never even cared for Wilhoit that much. I say we have been missing a solid kicker since maybe Hall. This guy could be a big boost to our team.
