Charlie West...kicking guru in Nashville/Brentwood area...says it's mostly mental focus. He coaches many high school kickers in this area.

Maybe Dooley can hire Fuad as a kicking coach. The Cafego lineage would be nice to have back.

How come nobody pooch punts anymore? Stats? I'd love to see a nice coffin corner kick now and again.

The kicker from Farragut is a little bit more accurate on field goals than the kid from West

Volly, you might be forgetting Greg Burke.... Lincoln and Palardy have nothing on that dud....

Well when you have and offense (with the exception of the 1990 Bama game) that included Andy Kelly at qb, a wr corps that all went to the NFL, and a huge ol the kicking game wasn't as exposed.....except to win the Auburn game!

The water bottle that hit him in the head was classic...although I heard later that it was an accident.

You know it's bad when our FG kicker and punter sux. Even when the Vols were mediocre, we almost always had good kickers. Now, not even that. We had good punters, thanks mostly to the Colquits, for seemingly 20 years. And a lot of good kickers. Palardy's lame first-half kick against Kentucky pretty much summed up the offense for the year--a wounded duck that I'm not sure even made it to the end zone.

My wild guess is that he never transitioned fully to kicking without a tee. One failed FG attempt against Kentucky, you could see his foot hit the turf some distance from the ball. Bottom line is I dunno.

From what I've heard its all in his head. In practice he will nail them, but when he gets into a game situation he gets jumpy. Most of the fgs he kicks low are done so when he plants his foot slightly past the ball instead of even with it. If you look at his be recruiting video he was kicking without the tee the whole time, so it shouldn't be an issue
