I have never seen the #1 rated HS kicker (Palardy) let alone both he and the #1 rated HS punter (Darr) be such disappointments in the same season. Hell the kid from the frat house, should have been playing ahead of Palardy. I don't know if we have another punter behind Darr and Palardy, perhaps someone else knows? One thing is certain, they both have sucked all season long. Palardy is either kicking FG's so low they get blocked at the line or he's kicking the ball out of bounds at crucial times or both. Darr has to get a 20 yard roll to net a 40 yard punt. The fact Dooley continues to play these fools 12 games into the season, irritates me to no end. Thoughts?

After two years it's time to use these scholarships for other players. Aren't the scholarships granted on a year-to-year basis?

I don't think anyone on this board will disagree with how disappointing both Palardy and Darr have been. What I'm curious about is why?

There is no way that all the recruiting services missed this badly on both of these kids. That means that something other than pure talent/ability is at play. Is it a mental block? Is it lack of a kicking coach? Is it type of practice/training? Is it rep related? I don't know which, if any, of those questions would be answered yes and which would be answered no, but outside of the Colquitts, UT has had very poor play out of its kickers and punters for a while now.

Agree. I'm also not sure what the situation is with backup kickers, but I am at a loss to explain how such highly recruited kickers could end up performing this poorly. I was at the game today (for the first time this season), and seeing the kicking game live and in person helps to understand more fully just how bad it is.

UK had a huge edge in these two positions before, during, and after the game.

If you choose a dedicated special teams coach vs say a RB coach, their performance is unacceptable.

I watched all of palardy's hs highlights...kid was good in high school. Appeared that he had a personal kicking coach growing up.

It likely has a lot to do with the fact that we have a ST coach - but the kickers and punters work alone - with no instruction. And that comes straight from Fuad Reveiz's mouth who is routinely at practice. They don't coach our kickers/punters - it was disturbing to hear and just shows how bad this staff really is.

Somebody tell the Colquitts to quit sittin around and have another kid

Surely there is a cousin or uncle that hasn't gone to college yet. I don't care if they are 40 years old. An old Colquitt could probably outkick Darr. Heck, I bet some Colquitt women could do better.
