Palardy 2010

100% likely he doesn't do all three. Lincoln will be healthy and will probably win the short range FG job. Cunningham is a good punter. It will be enough if UT can get some touchbacks out of Palardy and get him adapted to the college game.

The forecast for 75% certainty is about 25% to 50% probability for 100% accuracy to be about 37%*off, plus or minus 15%. But that could change between now and September.

*Give or take 12%.

But don't quote me on that.

Sorry but I liked your assessment so much I felt that I had to Quote you on it.

Cunningham is 5th in the SEC in punting with 41.98 per punt. It is doubtful that Palardy takes that job as a Fr.

Palardy averaged 47.5 this season (I understand the difference between HS and College). Gets great hang time from some of the video I have seen of him.

I think it might boil down to more to need. If they need him to kick FG in addition to KO, then maybe Cunningham punts. If Lincoln, Mathis, or anyone else kicks FG's, Palardy will have a good shot to punt.

If the goalpost is not between him and the defensive line, I don't think distance will be the issue.

If I'm not mistaken, the difference is something like 1.5 seconds... which is an eternity for a punter. He'll have to learn to get his punts off at least 1 second faster if not more. That's why I think they should let him master one piece at a time. KO is where the greatest need is. FG's is next. Cunningham is a better punter than either of the current guys is a FG kicker.

I look for Cunningham to be the punter and Palardy to do field goals , extrapoints and kickoffs

We no the kid is good but can he kick a 45 yard field goal with the game on the line in the swamp or Bryant-Denny.

Agree with SJT, I think we will work him in slowly starting on kickoffs and long FG's unless he comes in and dominates as a punter. Cunningham is a decent punter.

Palardy is a one step punter and get off time is better than anything I've seen from Cunningham. He's a left footer which makes it hard for opponents to prepare for because it is tough to simulate. He will win all three.

Wow, the kid was hitting his kick offs beyond the end zone, not only was he able to do a one step punt, but it appeared on his directional punts he even had a Craig Hentrich thing going where the ball didn't turn over it was landing with the toe skyward. He should be fun to watch.

I doubt he takes Cunningham's job...Lincoln hasn't looked good since his freshman year, and Palardy is talented enough to take his job.

Had the pleasure of watching Palardy workout recently. He hit a 80 yard punt that was in the air forever! Never have seen anything like it. Longest punt that I have ever seen and he made it look easy. He also kicked off from the 30 and was putting the ball consistently 7-10 yards deep in the ez. Hit 55 yard fg off the ground with 6-7 yards to spare. This kid has thunder in his leg. You are in for a real treat.

I bet you he will end up punting and kickoffs at the very least. I don't know if he will be the field goal kicker, he seems to struggle a bit with accuracy. But he is a beast punter.

Well if he can be accurate even from tough angles, I think there's a very good chance he will get all 3 jobs. I think his best attribute is punting...high hang time, punts almost always over 45 yards, and being left footed sends the ball at an angle that confuses the punt returners and makes it tougher to catch

Not doubting his ability at all, but it is going to be hard for a freshman to come in and overtake 2 upperclassman's jobs. Same as any position. These guys might not be stars but they have a lot of experience in SEC environments. I just don't see him coming in and winning all 3 jobs. If he does that will be great because that means he is a superstar, but if any coach will do it it is Kiffin.
