Paint the rock for Poole!!

SGMVols can try to twist it however he wants but when Tauren walked off last year it was with approx 2 min's left in the game. Kiffin himself told him to either sit down and shut up or go to the locker room. TP decided to go to the locker room. Tauren then initiated a meeting with Kiffin on Sunday to talk to him again with regards to playing time. at that meeting Kiffin told him that the depth chart was set and it is what it is.

for all you naysayers out there, Tauren has done nothing to merit any negativity toward him. he was a early enrollee, two time all-academic sec and is on pace to graduate early. he has busted his butt to earn playing time and has done all the things needed to get a chance to prove it and bottom line thats all he's wanted.

Agreed. IMO TP outperformed BB in preseason practice all last year. He was the only one Wes Rucker and Hubbs were raving about, then he ends up 4th on the DP.
I understand Kiffin wanted to use Oku and BB as a recruiting tool, but looked to screw TP a little

I wonder why it is that Poole was automatically behind Oku on the depth chart last year, but as soon as a new staff comes in Poole is the starter over Oku...

I am not so much worried about BB being ahead of him because I believe he was better, but seeing Oku take more snaps than him last year was questionable at best. I believe Poole had a right to be frustrated last season because the favoritism was obvious even if you try to blind yourself to it.

This....

Poole was behind Oku on the depth chart for the same reason he was behind BB. It was for recruiting purposes and he never got a fair shot. We all know it, and that's fine if that's what Kiffin wanted to do, but for people to say Poole got the same opportunity and BB was simply better is ridiculous. You are right, the fact Poole is ahead of Oku after they both competed and got the same opportunity in the spring tells us what we need to know. Good post.

Long story short....Poole got screwed out of playing time last year for Kiffin's recruiting agenda.

Poole will be a stud SEC RB this year!

How many carries did Oku end up with? 30?

It didn't seem like a huge difference in carries between the two. It might have been though.

Oku is the kind of guy that can take one to the house every time he touches the ball. I can see wanting to get him involved.

Poole is much more of a Hardesty type that grinds out yards.

Poole had 10 carries last year, Oku had 23.

So it's pretty much irrelevant then.

No, I would think it was relevant if a true freshman that is not as good as you got 13 more carries. Now, if Oku ends up winning the job for this season, which looks unlikely at this point, then it would make sense. JMO.

Less than 2 carries per game vs. less than 1. Real big difference there.

Poole played in 3 games, Oku played in 6.

Poole - 8.5 YPC
Oku - 4.08 YPC

You never provide any facts. It's easy to disagree with everyone just to be different.

Poole's stat is inflated by a big run on the last play of the WKU game. Any back can average 8.5 YPC over 10 carries.
