Sometimes the stats don't show everything. So all you pace arguers need to take it from a player's viewpoint.

I know some of you will go to or watch games and state it is a slower pace than the year before but that is just your hardheadedness or willingness to admit you are wrong.

There are a lot of intangibles in effect that don't mean you have to score 100 points to play at a fast pace. Here's the best counter to that argument. Tennessee averaged 72.2 points a game last year. Southern Miss averaged 72.1. Reese now knows both systems and he says the Vols will play at a faster pace.

Wouldn't shots per game or even possessions per game be a better indicator of pace than points per?

In Tyndall's case and looking at the stats on paper, I guess one can argue it either way.

In this case, we need to take a player's view and it is clearly indicated that you can expect 8 - 10 players in a game every time they hit the floor.

It looks slow on paper but in reality it will be hard to sit down. I Don't expect see a lot of slow pace offenses unless we are protecting leads or calling off the dogs.

Seems as though CDT likes to control tempo and pace and does a lot of in game adjustments.

We will see. CDT plays very slow in the half court. We will have more opportunities to run due to more turnovers caused . So we we may have more fast breaks. We will see how the scoring is. CDTs teams don't average many points. So we will have more fast breaks but may average less points or about the same due to the slow half court offensive philosophy. Maybe he is changing his offense though.
