I don't care where he goes as long as it saves UT money.

He can be the choir coach for the Sewer Scrubbers College for all I care.

Just get a job and save us $$$$.

VFL...GBO!!!

I wonder if he would do better at a school with lower expectations? I watched Muschamp during that Michigan win and he looked relaxed. I think I even saw him smile. I never saw that when he was at Florida. He always looked like his underwear was three sizes too small. A 9 win season and a bowl win is fantastic at South Carolina and a let down at a school like Florida. Let's be honest, did Butch ever look relaxed under the bright lights of Neyland? I never saw it.

Watch Butch get the job and agree to some minimum contract for the first 3 years so Tennessee still has to pay him. Something very common in Baseball and Football.

This is a good post. He very well may based on the pressure. That was one of the first cracks I saw in Butch. Dude was screaming and kicking up dust in some pretty common situations. I like passionate coaches (Did you see Saban rip into his OC after 2 failed roll out passes the other night?), but Butch was going off at times when I would have expected a great coach to be pondering strategy.

I've been in somewhat similar leadership situations. You cannot discount the effects of pressure. Muschamp is a good example. At TX in waiting, he was considered a top coaching hire in the nation. Did a phenomenal job this year.

I hope Jones does well if he gets that. He did SOME good things here and represented the school pretty well.

The most spot on analogy of Muschamp I've ever read right there...I literally laughed out loud pretty hard at that one. :eek:lol: :hi: :eek:lol: :good!: :eek:lol:

This sort of level HC opportunity is right for Butch. He can win 7-9 games every other year or so and be in good shape. A losing season squeezed in between won't get him fired. He'd probably build them pretty well with his ability to recruit.

Muschamp built a lights out defense at Florida. Obviously Pruitt is going to do the same here. The difference is he's worked under the most pressure riding HC in the business at the most highest expectation university in cfb and won....hell he's done it at every stop. I think he will not buckle under it but rather thrive in it here.

A low contract at Arizona would probably still be higher than any contract at a MAC or Conf USA school. I would be amazed if Arizona hired him over Sumlin or Kiffin, but stranger things have happened.

Yep Pruitt hire could go one of two ways...Muschamp @ Florida or Kirby.

So, Arizona will now acquire the "best staff in America."
That should make them happy.

The only good thing about this job is their is tons of Hotties their and ASU to look at around on Campus... Jones will need to grow his hair out to the traditional butt cut

Meh, I don't hate the guy like some do. I hope he's successful somewhere else. There's plenty of coaches that aren't built for the SEC. Butch built a team that could contend with Oklahoma and the SEC powerhouse programs he just wasn't enough of a coach to get us over the hump. That Dobbs, Kamara team with a good coaching staff could've been in the playoffs.

Speaking of old crappy coaches anyone reading how Derek Dooley is whining no one has told him he is fired at Dallas? Cowboys WRs coach Derek Dooley denies decision made to part ways

I have an image he is still sitting at his desk with sharpened pencils waiting for a homework assignment. Maybe he should consider going back into law.
