PA for football and men's basketball

This guy SCREAMS and bellows into the mike to hear his own voice. "It's third down" as he screams... no feces Fred, we KNOW it's third down! Why scream into the mike? And you can't escape the obnoxiousness. Many times I will stream the audio on the computer and delay the TV to match the audio to escape some of the ESPN morons, but you can't escape the bellowing from the PA guy at Neyland.

The same with basketball... whether you're in the arena, watching on TV or listening on the radio, you can't get away from the obnoxious, incessant screaming.

We can do much better than this. He's ruining my listening and viewing experience.

I thought the It's third down scream was a recording that some idiot amplified and played over and over and over....
You mean an announcer is actually that stupid?

The scream of "It's a Tennessee Three" is unbearable in the Tommy Bowl, Haywood Harris was silky smooth on the basketball PA and provided pertinent and relevant information that the fans might otherwise not catch. Basketball is not an indoor football game. The baffoonery on the mike now tries to be a cheerleader rather than a PA announcer, further eroding the fan experience by having to listen to his nonsensical screaming, he should give the mike up and go sit in the student section.

Oh I agree, my point that seemed to be missed was I don't want Keith either.

I listen to Keith often and he’s getting worse every year. And his partner, while very intelligent, needs to stop with the coach speak (they’re in 13 personnel, Mike, that was a wham block, they blocked the 1 technique well, etc).

First time I heard it was about 20 years ago in Lexington KY. Now every field announcer feels obligated to copy the madness.:mad:o_O

Of course it is missed. You don't like Keith? I got no real issue with that. However, I would have taken him over Bob. Still trying to get my head around why he was ever hired. If it was to make listening to the radio a thing of the past? Good call!

It is a recording. I’m not a Titans fan but I like the sound they use on a third down conversion. The soldiers on “300” yelling.

Thanks for bringing this up. You can hear the dude OVER the TV Broadcasters!! Who the Hell thinks this is Cool? WHO is in charge? Idiots. (and yes, most fans KNOW when it's third down) The old guy was Perfect. Great Voice and perfect volume. "Pay these prices and not a penny more!" Yep.
