'17 PA CB Lamont Wade

"His dad told me they still plan on making it down for an OV. I think that could get pushed back to Bama right now."

- Fortenberry

Ap St and Bama games? Nice.

My previous post on having to re-evaluate my thinking on Wade has become more definite. If he is planning to visit for Appalachian State on his own dime (a Thursday night game) and is still planning an official for a second game!

He is no longer, in my opinion, a long shot. I won't say that he is favoring us, but I don't think that I would be wrong in saying that we are a factor till the end.

Dude, you had given up on him when I mentioned him a while back. You are Mr. Contradiction!

Things change. Its recruiting. IMO we need to see him in Knoxville a lot more to have a shot. With the talk of possibly more visits coming, I think our chances improve.

I did put together a hypothetical long shot finish a few days ago and Wade was in it. We'll see. As I said I think we are currently behind in this one.

“Neyland is the best stadium I’ve ever visited,” Wade told SEC Country on Tuesday. “I visited for the (Georgia) game last year and really liked the energy and everything about Tennessee. It’s going to be a really cool game to be at (next Thursday).”

...“Tennessee is one of my top schools,” Wade told SEC Country. “I could see myself playing football at Tennessee. Tennessee is a place that I really want to go see again.”

But sadly, you never do...

I'm sitting right next to the recruits area, I'll use the d4h evaluation method and determine his career success by how smoothly he gets in and out of his seat.

I still get the feeling we are going to land this guy. I think his connection with shoop is big. Not to mention the uncertainty with things a PSU, i think hes been turned off by michigan and OSU. Pitt is possible they have had solid Defense's recently. But I really like our chances plus i think Martinez has done a pretty good job recruiting as well. Just imagine landing Wade, and finishing with Trey Smith, Akers, and Harris. We could end up top 5-10 again, especially if current guys get bumps

Follow. The. Visits.

Well in that case...

Tennessee will welcome just a handful of visitors for next week's season opener against Appalachian State. But, as of now, the list includes 5-star defensive back Lamonte Wade. The biggest question for Wade, though, may be logistics. He has a game Friday night back in Pennsylvania and the plan is to leave Tennessee at the conclusion of the game.

Either way, a very positive sign he and his family want to make that trip, especially knowing they will be back in town for an official visit later in the month.
