Back had been better last Monthy, but it is a chore now to walk even short distance or stand for prolonged period

Not saying this at you, just in general.

“Happy Memorial Day” is an oxymoron. It’s not really a happy day.

Have a meaningful Memorial Day or something along those lines is more appropriate IMO.
