Overrated/Underrrated SEC teams in 2025

I think Oklahoma has a chance to be very, very good. Their offensive line was a complete mess last year and they were decimated by injuries at Wide Receiver. If Mateer is as good as he looked last year at WASU, I think OU can make the playoffs.

The defense will be about the same as last year which I’ll take. The offense will be better without Nico or I believe so. Just need to hit the deep ball 2-3 times per game, we could not do that which affects everything JH wants to do. Special teams need to improve and if so, plus I like the schedule we should be 10-2 or 9-3 at worst.

Yea i trust BK to go about 9-3 play in the Citrus Bowl at LSU and that won’t cut it anymore. They have put all their chips in this season to get to the playoff and challenge for the SEC and natty.
I think he’s going to have to back into a generational type qb again to have a shot yet they had Daniels and still couldn’t get it done. Hell we a$$-blasted them at home lol.

They certainly have a shot at being ‘22 Tennessee, but I’m not sold on Venables being a great HC.

Brian Kelley is 29-11 at LSU.
72% winning percentage.

That’s a secure winning percentage if you’re South Carolina or Arkansas*. But LSU has
Won 3 National Championships since we won our last in 1998. They’re expectations are to compete and Brian Kelley hasn’t done that with them despite talent being there.
*or Tennessee

LSU spent a lot in the portal and recruiting. If BK doesn't make the CFP, he's likely gone.

In their last 2 openers the 🐅 have stumbled and wouldn't be surprised to see Clemson get the W in this opener. Whether the 🐊 are back might be determined if they leave with the W over 🐅. Can't see 🐅 with Ws @ Ole Miss and Bubba. 8-9 Ws ceiling.

Where Arch and Texas are as a team may not be settled at OSU but if 🐊 get that W at LSU then that TX game becomes very important. I would be OK with a 🐊 W over TX. TX ceiling Is probably 10 Ws.

My 8 ball is "yet to be determined" on the Vols and Bubba. Georgia D takes another step back but still better than TX and Bubba.
LSU hasn't won an opener since 2019

They have talent, but I just don’t see it. I think they lose their opener against Clemson and wouldn’t be shocked if FL gets them and they lose to A&M again. Their offense will be good enough to keep them in games, but like you said Nuss isn’t the second coming and I don’t expect their defense to dramatically improve. I expect Kelly to get in his own way and they’ll finish 9-3 or 8-4.
Nuss put up better numbers as a 1st year starter than both Burrow and Daniels (both won the Heisman in year 2). He won't be the problem. They spent a ton on defense as well.

Texas has the easiest schedule in the SEC. I don't know why the SEC gave them the yellow brick road two years in a row. It's hard to count them as overrated when they will just out talent most of the teams on their schedule. Maybe next year will provide some real SEC resistance for Texas.

The SEC showed their hand when they added TX and OK, and gave TX "that" schedule. TX bullied the Big 12, and it's happening again. It's just the fact that no one wants to admit it. The SEC sold out to get another market (A&M didn't add enough).

I’m aware lol, but he also had an offensive wizard of an OC in Joe Brady and arguably one of the best cfb QB’s of all time in Joe Burrow. Joe Sloan and Garrett Nussmeier ain’t that.
Literally NO ONE thought Burrow would be what he was. No one though Daniels' would either (look at the video of his teammates talking chit as ASU lol). Look at Burrow's stats as a 1st year starter. Look at Daniels' 1st year stats as a starter. Then look at Nuss's 1st year as a starter. The "curve" works in his favor.

I don’t think you’re wrong necessarily, I’m just in the camp of I’ll believe it when I see it.

Lol, understandable. I don’t hate LSU by any means, I just think they can do better than Brian Kelly.
Oh I don't like LSU. However, (rather unfortunately) that's where I ended up for my MBA.

I can agree with that. Brian Kelly sucks. AND he faked the accent when he was hired. Like bro, you're not from the south.

I will die on the hill of him causing that kid’s death as well. I can’t and won’t get past that.

They could be and Venables better have a big year or he could be toast.
