A question for you recruitniks: How many of you believe that the '14 instate class is shaping up to be a once-in-a-decade phenomenon and how many of you believe that it is a sign of more consistent things to come in terms of instate talent?

I think over the last three years our instate talent gradually got better and next year will be the best it ever has. I think that trend will keep on going with more people moving into the state constantly.

Seems to me that our instate talent is on the upswing. I see no reason for that to change anytime soon.

It all starts with pee wee ball. The most successful HS programs have solid pee wee programs . Start 'em young and teach 'em nothing but orange !

Good to hear. Perhaps over time, we can begin to reduce the size of the recruiting mountain we have to climb each year vis-a-vis instate vs. out of state prospects. Incidentally, I know that you have a powerhouse of a program there in Maryville, but how many of those guys are typically SEC-caliber athletes.

IMO...whether Tennessee has 25 4*s or 10 4*s every recruiting year....we need to have them all wearing orange and white on Saturdays.

Lane Kiffin was right about the fence around Tennessee and getting the brand out there....Butch Jones is doing exactly that except in a professional manner.

Next year's instate class is going to be very important for us to get the majority of them and to go out and win. Yes, there are those of us who live and die for the Orange, but the athletes in our state want to go and win ball games at the next level. Hopefully CBJ can go promote and prove that message to them next season.

On another note, I am originally from West TN and have watched quite a few games back at home, but there was one kid from Crockett Co. who plays linebacker and has a really good knack for the ball! I did some research and didn't find anything on him on Rivals, but did find his video on Scout and Youtube. Check it out

I haven't posted enough on here to start a Forum Topic on him, or I would have. Would be a really good asset

Vols_Recruiting: RT @ToddKellyJr6: The state of Tennessee is gradually beginning to gain more respect for high school athletics

I like this from TK jr. Hopefully he makes it a point to bring his talent to UT and also bring the states best talent with him.
