Over.under on how long QB (ut) lasts in the game

I think they were talking about this also on Sports Animal too, but had to change off because couldn't bear to listen to another Cordell, Cordell and Cordell divorce lawyer commercial.

Anything is better than those Morgan & Morgan "for the people.com" "I would describe myself as a fighter" "yada yada yada, blah blah blah" commercials that have taken over the Nashville airwaves.

Volnation: “The players really need to get rid of the losing mentality”

Also Volnation: “We should just punt on 1st down to minimize the beating”

I say we rotate QB's by series to give each some time for trainers to assist.

I actually think UT surprises people and plays well. Keeps it within 14 for a while and gets beat by 20.

i think you're still over estimating, to some degree, what this roster is capable of in either system.

we're not going to a bowl

it's time for the long game. get guys reps, develop the roster. the returning guys for next year need to show up for spring, summer and fall camp knowing what htey're supposed to do and how to do it, and they need to be able to show the incoming class what to do as well. not sure there's a whole lot to be gained by tinkering with personnel or scheme at this point.

go do what you do, so you have a shot at being better at it next year, and maybe build some depth along the way.

and you still may find yourself in a position to win that 5th or 6th game...who knows. it's only week 5. but i wouldn't put any money on us participating in the post season.........
I've also heard some former players say that they don't think it's going to help build a winning 'culture' to let the young guys get their azzes handed to them week in and week out

hard to argue against that too. rock, meet hard place. at some point you gotta do something. we're both probably over analyzing it too much.

we knew this month of games would be difficult. everyone knew that 2-6 was a possibility.

we're just there now. and it sucks way more to go thru it, than it ever did to talk abou it as a possibility.

i think fundamentally, there's things they probably won't deviate from, philsophically speaking. personnel wise, they're still tinkering with a few things here and there.

we'll see what happens in November. 5-7 is probably the celing right now, as we sit here today, so it's probably a moot point anyway.

I have to confess that I wondered if it would be too obvious if we played our 3rd string QB until the O-line gets it together.

Do they still air those late night infomercials for an appliance buyers' club in Naples/Ft. Myers featuring an Asian guy who speaks pigeon English and a lady that I assumed was his wife?

Considering the O line couldnt block a motivated middle- schooler , how long will our QB last ? I will set the over/under at 21 minutes before he is carried from the battlefield too broken ( emotionally and physically) to play any more at least for that day and maybe the remainder of the season. I am sincere, when I say we should quik kick on first down on any possession on our side of the 50. That might prevent an all-time epic rout like 100 to 3 . We will wait til Bama kicks the **** out of this sorry bunch. The DAWGS are very close to Bama now and they have not forgotten the BLESSED HAIL MARY we did back when we had a real team.
Just curious why you start threads of this nature ?

Doesn't sound familiar, but I don't watch much TV, all those Morgan and Morgan commercials I hear are on the radio.

That would mean you pick the under. Yore welcome.

**Kinda messed up y'all talking about JG getting knocked out of the game though.
Well it's more on the OL than anything with JG. And I would like to see offensive play calls that try to keep JG from taking hits so we'll see what kind of changes they come up with Saturday.

We need to protect Jarrett as much as we can vs. ga/ala and aub. If and when the games get out of hand (3rd qtr for example) pull him and put in younger players. That way we live to fight another day and get experience.

So a team that goes 9-4 beats Georgia Florida and Virginia tech is not a quality team? Some of you guys have lost your minds.

It's the On-Off switch effect of Vol Nation.

There is no room in much of this board's discourse for complexity, for shades of grey, much less 128,000,000 colors, tints, and tones.

If it happened during the Butch era, it must be bad. Switch is off.

That is all.

True. Atleast it’s almost time for basketball season. I can’t wait to see what Barnes can do this year!

You could pick literally ANY QB in the NCAA right now and he will always look subpar or worse when you have such a flimsy inexperienced O-Line as we have. Every defense has figured out JG isn't a runner so if they load the box he has at BEST two and a half seconds to get rid of the ball before he gets blasted. It makes needing a secondary almost a null point. Dobbs was elusive and a dual threat that's the only reason we got the wins we did two years ago. Put Keller or JT or this QB from Clemson people keep trying to hype up that we have a shot at getting (no chance by the way),the outcome won't change. I give JG huge props for being able to mentally endure knowing he's going to get wrecked week in and week out and yet still has the stones to give it everything he has. I support him 1000%. That being said Wayna+Trey + (hopefully) Darnell Wright next year would produce a huge noticeable change in our QB rating and quality from a simple talent standpoint....they would be monsters.

We have wayyyyyy too many people who expected immediate unrealistic results this year with little to no time investment as evident to the numerous threads these last few days of people throwing child-like tantrums about CJP not being the right coach 4 GAMES INTO HIS TENURE. Just stop talking, please. You guys are the ones who give us a bad name straight up. Support our Vols and more importantly the kids who sweat and bleed for the sake of your PRIDE. Go fairweather somewhere because your whiny attitudes are getting increasingly annoying. I'm so tired of reading all the non stop negativity. Why would anyone even joke about how long before a 20 year old kid gets so hurt he's out of the game? TF is wrong with you? Dude, if that was my son or my brother and someone said that in front of me I would lay them out.

"Real" Team = Dobbs. Butch should have paid him half his pay check.
Yes but a good QB can be the difference on any team. This offensive line is weak and right now we need a scrambler like dobbs on offense. How in the world JG was determined a dual threat is beyond me. He does not scramble . And why in the world did helton call two back to back QB draws against Florida?
