There was a confidence about Priutt as he said the real season starts this week.

We spent a lot on the SC coach. More than any of the teams we played spent on their SC coach.

And we did not begin in worse shape than Any of these teams back in January.

I hope that Tennessee is over trained, and will see a significant pop in performance this week. The idea being that they recover from continuous training since January during this week. The hope is that every Tennessee player will have 20% more juice against Florida than we saw yesterday.

That is what I heard in the press conference. I heard hope.

No offense to the OP, but we hear reason after reason why our teams lose, in hopes that the veil will lift, and we will be a competetive football team. I have believed them time after time. Now I just believe that we are not a good football team and will need several great recruiting classes to build a team with the depth and talent to compete for the east.

In case you haven't heard the Vols are on a two game winning streak. We are improving every game, which is all ANY reasonable Fan can ask. CP has made NO EXCUSES for anything.
Stop living in the past and look to the future. I know you want but someone needs to tell you. We are not going to win the NC this year but we are improving. Sheesh.

If a dog’s going to bite he’ll bite as a pup. To think that we’ll magically turn it on against FL after looking lackluster thus far is unlikely. If we are a dangerous team we would have shown it already. You can bet that we play our worst game of the year against FL.

Can Pruitt turn the culture? It’s early but over time I think so. The guy knows what good looks like and he expects it. Let’s see.

Did you compensate for the level of competition before deciding we are improving every game?

We are two or three recruiting classes away from being a contender again. I know it is difficult to find patience but we have no choice.

We demonstrated how a duck pulls a truck in our annual game with the gators once before. There's reason to believe we can do this again, no?

Dude what?
1) S&C is a weak point.
2) there was not enough time to correct.
3) to maximize training treat the first SEC game as the start of the season.

Endurance athletes train to peak for certain events. Sometimes you can even pass them in events that are important to you, but not to them.

Before a big event they reduce the volume of training to let their body recover for the big event. This reduction in volume of training is called a "taper."

Pruitt says every week they practice the same. This builds a routine and lowers heart rate (less anxiety).

But the SC program is not practice. That would be planed to peak at Florida.

These last 3 games may have been played while still training as if off season. If they back off a little and recover a little more this week, every player will have more juice. They may look like an SEC team with the same exact players.

Maybe wishful thinking, but likely how volume would be scheduled to win the Florida game.

Yea, it doesn't matter what you believe or don't believe. Whatever is going to happen will happen regardless. People can mock you for believing and or hoping, that doesn't matter either.

I know you know all that, I just felt like saying it. Haha.

The little known power (outside of the strength training world) of the "deload week" can indeed greatly increase strength.
If that is part of the strategy, this is very interesting.

All those turn overs and penialties was not an improvement.

Some of you should never go shopping for automobiles alone. I think we've got a reasonable shot of beating Florida, but to think there is some master plan to have the SC program peak at the Florida game, and that this is why you have not yet seen whatever you expected out of this team is a flight of fancy worthy of the Gruden threads. Oh no, what if Florida is doing the same thing? Beaver what then?
